Fanfic: Power of Choice

Why am I not surprised?


Luigi walks around in the castle and looks for any sign of Ganondorf.

He spots the trophy of him on a ledge and thought, "Boy is he going to be mad when he comes to."

The mario brother picks up, carrys and places the trophy to a lower ledge, touches its base and braces himself.

A flash of light was seen then a thud as Ganondorf fell to the ground.



Luigi looks and sees Ganondorf on the ground, not moving.

"Uh oh..." he said, "Come on! Get up!"

Ganondorf moans a little.

"I got it!" Luigi thought, digs into his pocket and pulls out a green mushroom.

He kneels down, makes Ganondorf open his mouth and makes him eat it.

A moment later, Ganondorf's eyes shot open and asked, "Huh?! Where am I?!"

Luigi gets up and said, "Don't you remember? You were beaten by Bowser and-"

"Oh right..." he mumbled and got up himself.



"We've got to hurry! Bowser could be anywhere!" Luigi said.

"Right, but I wonder what that thing was..." Ganondorf asked himself.

"Mind if I answer that?"

"You know what it is?!" Ganondorf asked in shock and anger, "You were watching the whole thing?!"

Luigi ducks back and said, "I tried to warn you, but you couldn't hear me!"

The gerudo growls then said, "Well? Out with it!"

"It's called a Smash Ball," Luigi said, still in fright, "They've been turning up since Tabuu's defeat. I even used one."

"And?"

"I used a new power, but it didn't last."

Ganondorf thinks and said, "I don't need one."

"Are you nuts?! You'd lose again if you don't have one!" Luigi said in shock.

The demon king shows the back of his right hand and a three piece triangle symbol appears on it, the north piece glowing brighter then the rest.

"I told Bowser about this before," he said, "He had better remember it, because when I catch him, I'm using it again."

Ganondorf jumps off the ledge and was about to leave, but Luigi said, "Wait! I want to help the princess too!"

He thinks then said, "Fine, just don't get in my way."

"No problem!" Luigi said, "Lead the way!"

They both dash out of the castle walls intent to rescue the princess.

I knew the Smash Service wouldn't last, but I was expecting it to end NEXT year or something instead of a year after Brawl's release. I guess they just got tired of managing the pictures and stuff already.

Pit lead the way out of a dense forest.



"Dang! They must have passed here already!" he said in annoyance.

"This isn't looking good," Link said.

"Lets keep going. There has to be something," Mario said.



He quickly spots something and runs ahead.

"Mario?" Pit asked as he ran by then jumped onto a mossy ledge.

He looks around and said, "I see footprints!"



"Huh? Where?!" Link asked and looks around the ground.

Mario runs and jumps down onto a path far from the others.

Link dashes in and stops behind him.



"See?" Mario points at large prints on the ground and smaller ones with them, "I know the smaller one's are high heels, so the princess was here."

Link compares one of the larger one's with his boot and said, "Those are definitely Ganon's."

"Uh...Mario? Do you know anyone that has the same size shoe as you?" Pit asked.

"My brother mostly, why?" he asked.

The angel points at the ground and shoe prints the same size as Mario's is seen.

"What the? Luigi came through here too?" Link asked.

"Now this is getting confusing..." Mario said.

"But we are also getting closer," Pit said and got his weapons ready, "Let's move."

Ganondorf and Luigi walk out of the castle area and thought about where Bowser went.



"Hey! Psst!" a voice was heard.

They stop and look around.

Ganon walked back a little when Wario zips out from behind the entrance and got in front of Luigi.

"Huh?!" Luigi sounded in fright, but quickly calms down and said, "Wario, what are you doing here?"



Ganondorf hears that and turns to them.

"I know what you want," he said, "Pay me, and I'll tell you where the princess went."



"First you're with Bowser, now you want to help us?" Ganondorf asked, "You need to get your priorities straight."

"Never you mind. The over grown lizard kicked me out after I helped him find those orb things."

"They're Smash Balls," Luigi corrected.

"Whatever, I just want to get back at him!"

"If you want revenge, you should pay us." Luigi said.

"Never!" Wario yelled, "Nothing will make me pay up!"

"I can change that..." the evil king said, cracking his knuckles.

Wario turned when he heard that and became scared.

"Well?" Luigi asked with a smirk.

Wario knelt down and said, "OK! OK! I'll tell you everything!"



"Spill it!" Ganondorf demanded.

"T-they headed south to a secret station...I-I heard Bowser is taking her into space..." Wario said in fright.

"What else?" Luigi said.

"I had my say!" Wario snapped at him.

Ganondorf grabs Wario by his thin throat and asked, threateningly, "What was that?"

"O-o-oh yeah! He's working with Wolf on ground level. They are probably in space by now, but W-Wolf has a ship that take you to space and to it's base directly."

"Thank you," Ganondorf said, and drops him the ground.

He and Luigi walk off.

"Being the king of evil has it's plus sides, huh?" Luigi asked.

Ganondorf laughs to that as they headed south.

Wario mumbled something to himself and jumps when he heard from Ganondorf, "What was that?!"

He hides behind the castle entrance once again.

Ganondorf had turned to where Wario was and Luigi whispered, "What'd he say?"

"Haven't a clue. Just wanted to get him going..." Ganon said with a smirk on his face, ready to laugh.

Luigi laughs and said, "You sneaky dog!"

They both laugh While Wario shakes his fist at them for doing that dirty trick.

Not too far from them, Link, Mario and Pit continued to give chase.

Pit takes lead with Link behind him incase anything goes wrong.



"Wait here guys, I think I saw something moving," Pit said and walked ahead.

"Careful," Mario said.



Pit walks slowly then heard a "Psst!"

The angel stops and asked, "Who's there?"

Wario comes out with a smirk and said, "Hey there, angel boy."

"Wario? What are doing here?" Pit asked.



Link and Mario walk in now.

"I was booted out by Bowser and now it's pay pack!" Wario said.

"Bowser's here?" Link asked.

"Not anymore, he has Peach."

"What?!" Mario said in shock, "Where'd he go?"

"I'm not saying a thing unless..."

"Ugh...Not this money thing. I don't have any coins."

"Do you have rupees?"

"You know our currency?" Link asked.

"Yeah, Peach payed me two of those one thousand rupee things."

"Huh? Was she alone?" Pit asked.

Wario shook his head and said, "Ganondork was with her."

"Now I'm confused," Mario said, "Was she under some sort of spell?"

"Didn't look it. Anyway, she and Ganondorf headed for the castle. The so called Demon King was beaten and Bowser has the princess now."

"At least tell us where he went," Mario asked, starting to get mad and was behind him now



Wario waves his hand to himself as if to say 'pay up' and Link gives up one of his thousand rupees to him.

"Now we are getting somewhere," Wario said taking the cash, "Now, Bowser mumbled about going to space with her and has gone south of where we are standing. If you want to live you better be careful as Wolf is in that base."

"Alright then," Pit said, "Let go."

Wario calls in his bike and said, "By the way, Ganondorf's heading there too."

"Curse it!" Link said.

"And he's not alone. I'm not sure if there's a reason...but your brother's with him, Mario."

"Luigi?!" Mario asked in surprise.

Wario rides off.



"This is getting crazy," Link said, "I not even sure if I understand this whole thing."

"We got to get to the princess first!" Pit said.

"Here we go!" Mario said as he and his team run off.

A mouse sniffs on the ground within a lab hallway then scurries off when it heard someone running it's direction.

Ganondorf and Luigi had managed to get into the base and continued to run.



"Slow down!" Luigi said, "Man, I need to get out more..."

"Heh," Ganondorf sounded then stopped and starts looking around.

Luigi tries to catch his breath and asked, "How can you run with all that armor anyway? It must weigh a ton!"

"Once you wear them a while, you won't even notice it's there," Ganondorf said, "That and I have to train myself to my limits. Trust me, it's worth it."

"I'll take your word for it on this one," Luigi said.

Ganondorf shakes his head to that, then walks off.

Luigi follows behind and starts thinking about Mario.

"I know you probably don't want to talk about it..." he start.

"On what?" the gerudo king asked.

"Well...Oohh I'm going to regret this...Um...What do you think if Mario knew that we were going after the princess?"

"That's it?" Ganondorf laughed a little, "I have bigger worries then that."

"Hmm..." the Mario brother sounded, thinking otherwise.

The soon come across a platform and Luigi takes interest.



"There's got to be a switch somewhere," Ganondorf said.

"Maybe you don't need one," Luigi said, "If I'm right, Wolf's stuff works with voice command."

"True, but it might only work with him," he adds then walks off.

"Good point. What should we do?" Luigi asked and follows close by

"Well from the rumors I heard, Wolf is making a copy of Fox's Landmaster. If we can find that, we can use it to easily look for a ship to space."

Luigi gets in front of Ganon asked, in panic, "You mean blowing up the place?! What if there's explosives around here?!"

"Even better. Nobody will be able to use it again if it's true."

Luigi scratches his head to this.

Ganondorf crosses his arms and asked, "You got a better plan?"



"No I don't..." Luigi admited.

"So stop worrying and come on!" Ganondorf said walking past him.

Luigi started to regret being with him at this point, but continued to follow.

Ganon's pretty bold, isn't he? He basically gave Luigi a heart attack about the whole thing.

Ganondorf and Luigi both come across a large area and the said Landmaster is seen.

"Jackpot!" Ganondorf said.

"Shh! Keep it down!" Luigi said and points at something the gerudo didn't see.

Wolf was not far from where they were standing, in front of the Landmaster.



"Shoot...Thanks for the warning..." Ganondorf quieted down.

"What now?" Luigi asked.

Wolf turns around, but doesn't see them and starts to walk up to their spot.

"Quickly," Ganondorf whispered, "Get on top of the machine."

"What?!" Luigi asked, in a whisper as well, in shock.

"Just do it, for goodness sakes!" Ganondorf whispered loudly and gets up on it himself.

Luigi jumps up on the Landmaster, just in time as Wolf was at their location.

Wolf then walks back to his original spot.

"That was too close for comfort..." Ganondorf said then spots Luigi fiddling with the canon, "What are you doing?"



"Trying to find the hatch," he said, "Hold on, I found it."

He jumps into the Landmaster, then said, "There's still lots of room in here. Come on down."

Ganondorf checks to see if he's be spotted yet then climbs in himself.

"How do you work this thing?" Luigi asked.

"Lets see if I can remember..." Ganondorf started, "Ah, it's coming back to me. Hang on."

He pressed a few buttons and the Landmaster starts up.

Wolf was alerted by then and turns around.

"How'd you do that?" Luigi asked.

"Forget that. It's time for part two."

He puts his foot on the gas and the machine started to move forward and quickly.

"What the heck?!" Wolf said.

Ganondorf fires a warning shot just over Wolf's head.

"Bowser didn't say anything about this!" Wolf said and ran off, Landmaster at his tail.



Ganondorf laughs and said, "Alright. Let's find that ship and get out of here!"

"Hopefully in one piece!" Luigi said in fright.

Funny that Ganondorf knows how to use a Landmaster, huh?

Yeah really.

Pit, Mario and Link ran as fast as they could to the base.

They quickly heard an explosion a moment later.

"We're too late!" Link said.

"Look!" Pit said, spotting ship take off.

Link and Mario spot Ganondorf and Luigi on the ship as it takes to the skies.

"Luigi!" Mario called out.

"Curse it!" Pit said, "Ganondorf's going to get Peach!"

On the ship, Luigi makes sure everything is stable.



"We are good to go," Luigi said, "Though, you made me nervous when we destroyed that place. I thought we were dead."

"Tch, you are always nervous," Ganondorf said, "I'm surprised you're with me this far, however."

"Heh...well..."

"'Well' nothing. You said you wanted to rid of your fears correct? You are doing all right."

"Thanks!"

"He's too easy to please," Ganondorf thought, then watches as they were about to leave their planet.



Luigi yelps suddenly and ducks out of fear.

"There goes the moment..." Ganondorf thought, sporting a look of disappointment then asked, "What's wrong now?"

"We're going to hit those asteroids!" he said.

Ganon looks and sees the said objects and notices that the ship is flying around them on it's own.



"Relax. The ship's avoiding them," Ganondorf said.

"By itself?"

"Yes, now get up."

Luigi does so and quickly calmed down.

As minutes went by, Ganondorf notices him looking out at the stars.

"Interested?" he asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah. I sometimes sneak out of the house to look at them if the night sky is clear. I don't know what it is, but they just fascinate me."

Ganondorf doesn't say anything, but he looks out at them himself.



Time passes and a much larger ship is seen in the distance.

"That must be it," Ganondorf said, "Get ready."

"You got it!" Luigi said.

The gerudo grabs his sword and gets ready for battle.

Luigi and Ganondorf sneak into the base, unheard and stops for a moment.

The gerudo crackes his knuckles and said in anger, "I'm going to smash that koopa's head in when I get my hands on him!"

His hands fill up with darkness when he said that.



"Uh...but Wario didn't say where he is on this station," Luigi pointed out.

"We'll find him, it's just a matter of time. Now come on!" Ganondorf said and walked off.

Luigi watches his back for a moment, then follows closely.

After a while, the duo see a hammer bro keeping watch.

"Curse it," Ganondorf said, "He'll alert every guard here if he spots us."

"I got it," Luigi said, "I'll give him a surprise while you stay hidden."

"Good enough...I think," the gerudo said, unsure about that.

Luigi sends a fireball down the hallway.



Ganondorf quickly hides behind a wall.

The hammer bro yelps from the fireball hitting his tail and turns to see Luigi, making faces at him.

"You little!" the hammer bro said and runs at Luigi.

At a certain distance, Ganondorf times and sticks his foot out into the hallway, tripping the foe.

The hammer bros falls chest first to the ground and the gerudo king pins him with his boot.

"Talk," he said.

"About what? Wait, Bowser said you're-"

Ganondorf points his sword at him and asked, "Don't make me repeat myself..."

"W-What do you want to know?" the hammer bros asked, now in fright.

"Where is Bowser and Princess Peach?"

"Bowser is in the engine room to the north. The princess...is...uh..."

"Is what?"

"I-I don't k-know! I j-just came h-here!" the hammer bro said and place his hands on his head in terror.

Ganondorf growls at this, puts his foot off the hammer bros's shell, then kicks him hard, sending him sliding into a wall, and knocking him out.

"Why did you do that?!" Luigi asked.

"Count it as a warm up when I get to the engine room," Ganondorf said, and walks off.

"But what about the princess?"

"I have a plan, but I need you most of all."

"Me? For what?"

"I'll get to that, now follow me."

Luigi starts to wonder about himself again, but stays behind the gerudo.

At the entrance to the engine room, Ganondorf stops and turns to Luigi.



"Listen up. Bowser doesn't know you're with me. I'll be handling the koopa king, while you are going to find Peach. Just don't get scared on me," the gerudo said, "Once you do find her, make sure she stays with you at all times. I'll use one of my spells afterward to destroy this ship's engine."

"What about you?" Luigi asked.

"Don't worry about me. Just get the job done!" Ganondorf almost shouted, "Now off with you and don't mess this up!"

The gerudo then runs off, leaving Luigi alone.



"I hope you know what your doing..." the Mario Bro thought and ran off himself.

In the engine room, Bowser was getting excited that everything was in his favor.



"Ahh...Ganondorf is out of the way...Princess Peach by my side...a ship to take us far from Mario and his friends...This couldn't get any better," Bowser said to himself.

"You might want to change that first part," Ganondorf's voice was heard behind the koopa king.

"WHAT?!!" Bowser asked in shock and turned to the voice to see Ganon standing nearby, "How did you get here?!!"



"It was pretty easy. Your 'buddy' Wario coughed up info of where you were so...there you go," Ganondorf said.

"That traitor!! It doesn't matter. I can make you turn back to your-Wait a minute...I watched you turn into a trophy earlier! How did you change back?!"

"It's kind of funny you say that...a man was kind enough to release me. I think you know him too."

"What?! Who?!" Bowser asked in anger.

"My lips are sealed," Ganondorf said and made the motion with his hand, signaling that he isn't telling anything else.

Bowser gets out another Smash Ball, smashed it and said, "Fine! I'll make sure you go back into a trophy then crush it!"

He transforms again and roars.



"This is the last time you'll bother me again!!" he shouted, then noticed something different about the evil king, as Ganondorf had his arms folded, was looking away, and ignoring the koopa.



"Sorry, did you say something?" Ganondorf asked.

"How dare you?!" Bowser roared, "What are you up to?!"

The gerudo stretches, ignores the question and asked, "Interesting item your using...but are you sure it's trust worthy?"



"It took you out last time!" Bowser sneered.

"Which is going to be the last!" Ganondorf said with a smirk.

"What are you talking about?" the koopa asked then watches as Ganondorf shows the back of his right hand, showing the Triforce of Power once more.

The gerudo starts to glow and floats off the ground.



"Not bad a trick huh?" he asked with a smirk, "Think you can take me again?"

"That marking..." Bowser mumbled, then remembered him using it before back at Hyrule Temple.

Ganondorf lands on the ground and said, "I'm your worst nightmare, koopa king. I rule the desert sands...the darkness...I almost became ruler of Hyrule...and if wasn't for you, Mushroom Kingdom as well."

He starts to focus and adds, "Now I'm not even sure about your world anymore. Peach does not judge me, let alone she helped me..."

"She helped you?!" Bowser shouted in shock, "I don't believe it!"

Ganondorf goes silent for a moment then said, "I guess that's why I'm here. To stop you, and bring her back to Earth...what ever it takes."

"Bring it!" the koopa king said.

The gerudo growls a little while focusing harder.



He goes on his hands and knees as darkness gathers around his body.

Ganon was now in his dark beast form and he roars at Bowser.



"What the?! Well, this is interesting," Bowser said.

Ganon simply snorts, smoke coming out of his nostrals, and scuffs one leg, ready to charge at any time.

Bowser was ready as well and said, "This might be fun. Come on then! Lets see what you got!"

Ganon sported a smirk and charged.

Awesome! Your doing an awesome job with the smashers personalities, too!

Thanks. If you know all the characters as long as I have, you get to know them. I also have a bad habbit of trying mimic their voices too.



Elsewhere, Luigi felt the tremers of the fight, and ducked down.



"Oohhh...Why did I do this? I want to help the princess...but, for him?" Luigi thought, "What have I got myself into?"

He quickly remembers Mario and thought again, "I wonder what my bro is doing? He knew what to do...Wait...Mario..."

Luigi got back up and said, "Mario never gave up...I shouldn't either. I got to hurry!"

He runs off.



After about an hour he paused for a breather, and scuffs his foot on the ground thinking again.

"I don't understand...Ganondorf is suppose to be pretty dangerous...and yet he's leaving me to this task..." he thought.



"Well...I better get moving. The princess still needs to saved," he said to himself and heard Peach's cries and shouted, "I'm coming!"

He found the cell and manages to open it.

"Luigi!" Peach cried in joy, "You came! I knew you would come!"



"You better stay with me, princess," Luigi said, "I don't want you to be taken again."

"I still feel bad for Ganondorf though," she said, "He tried to help me..."

"Uh...about him...he's fighting Bowser right now..." he said.

"What?! Why didn't you tell me?!" Peach asked in shock.

"He told me to find you and make sure you stay with me," Luigi said.

"I'll will have none of it!" she said and runs off.



"Princess!" Luigi shouted then thought, "Ganon's going to cream me now..."

He runs off and tries to catch up to her.

Oh boy...

Bowser and Ganondorf changed back to normal and both were tired from the fighting.



"You are a challenge to say that much," Ganondorf said, deep breaths, "I don't know why...but it's kind of fun."

"Hph, you won't be saying that when I finish you off!" Bowser said, also panting, "At least I still have a lot of Smash Balls left."

"Ganon!" Peach's voice was heard.

"Peach?!" he called back, stands up and thought, "I thought I told that idiot to watch her!"

"The princess is here?!" Bowser shouted.

Peach lands on a platform between the two and said, "Stop this right now!"



"Don't worry..." Bowser said, "I will once I finish Ganondorf off once and for all!!"

He gets out another Smash Ball, but suddenly it gets away from him and flies to Peach.



It floats close to Peach allowing her to reach out and grab it.

"What is this strange feeling?" she asked as her body and eyes glowed.

"She got it!" Ganondorf thought then shouted, "Use it! Before Bowser gets out another one!"



"OK!" Peach said and focused a little.

"No stop!" Bowser shouted in panic.

Peach started a dance, still glowing as she does, and hearts surround her body.



When Peach stops, she relaxes and said, "That felt good."

She looks down and sees that the koopa king feel asleep.



Peach giggles quietly and said, "I didn't think that would happen. What do you think Ganon?"

She heard no response however and said, "Uh oh...did it...?"

Peach walks to the other side of the platform, knelt down, and laughs again as the same thing happened to him too.



"I better wake him. He's not going to be happy," Peach said with a small laugh.

She jumps down, walks over, and whispers in the gerudo's ear, "Ganondorf...wake up."

He snaps out of it, looks around, and asked, "What happened?"

"You fell asleep silly," Peach said, "You're not the only one."

Ganondorf looks to see Bowser was still sleeping.

"OK...I'm not sure what happened, but..."

"I'll explain later. Right now, lets get out of here," Peach said.

An explosion was heard a moment later, waking Bowser up.

"What was that?!" he asked, in high alert.

Luigi runs in and shouts, "We got to get out of here! This place is going to blow!"

"What did you do?!" Ganondorf shouted.

"I didn't do anything!" he said in fright, "I was heading this way and something exploded from some tremer."

"It must be from my fight earlier," the gerudo thought.

"I'm not leaving without Peach!" Bowser roared and ran after the group.

Another explosion was felt, and this time it hit the koopa king and sent him flying.

"We got to get out of here!! Now!!" Ganondorf shouted.

He, Luigi and Peach ran as fast as they could to the exit.

Uh-oh...wonder what's gonna happen.

Sorry for the long wait. Here's another part! ;D


They continue to run through the metal hallways as more blasts of fire were heard.



A piece of the ceiling above falls down at them, but Ganondorf blasts it away with his magic before it reached them.

"Keep moving!" he shouted.

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Luigi shouted back, in fright.

Peach trips and fell to the floor, and noticed her foot is caught in some wiring.

"Help!" she cries, "I'm stuck!"

Ganondorf and Luigi heard her and ran back.

The Mario brother tries to free her, but above and even larger piece of the structure colapses and heads their way.

Peach screams at this and Luigi ducks down, both shut their eyes.

The crash never came and when they look, they spot Ganondorf holding up the metal ceiling with his bare hands.

"Why the look of surprise?" he asked, looking down at them, "Hurry it up, you two."

Luigi quickly went back to work and freed Peach from the wires.

Ganondorf throws the metalwork away then picks up the princess and continued to run with Luigi.

They managed to get outside, just when a large explosion was felt behind them.

Once on the small ship, they fly off then watch as the station continued to blow then cause a giant explosion a moment later.

"Whew...That was close...too close..." Luigi said.

Ganondorf places Peach on the ground and heard her say, "Thank you. I thought you were a trophy from the last attack on you."

"I helped him out on that one!" Luigi said, "I touched it and brought him back to life."

"You just reminded me...I said keep the princess with you at all times...didn't I?!" Ganondorf shouted at the younger Mario brother and was about to hit him.

"Yipe!" Luigi said and ducked.

Princess Peach got in between the two and said, "It's my fault, I didn't want you to get killed. I wanted to do something to help."

Ganondorf calmed down a little on that note and Luigi got back to his feet.



"Lets just go home," Peach added.

"I'm on it," Ganondorf said.

I can see the difference too. This was from the new TV I have now. At least you can see Ganon's eyes a little better(or at least things that are really dark).


The ship was now above the surface of the Earth and Ganondorf looks out.



He hears the chatter of Luigi and Peach below the platform and sighs.

"I wish they would shut up..." Ganondorf thought, "They've been talking non-stop since we left."

"Anything else you want me to do for you?" Luigi asked.

"Well...maybe you can take me to Hyrule Temple," Peach said.

Ganondorf overheard this then asked, "Back to where it all started? Why?"

"Well, if I know Mario, he'll be looking for me," she said.

"Good reason," he then said.

"Mind if I help him?" Luigi asked, trying to be polite.



"Sure!" Peach said, "Just be careful."

Luigi gets up to where Ganondorf was and watched as they got closer to Hyrule Temple.

"I'm glad this is all done and over with..." Luigi said.

He looks at the gerudo then asked, "When you said 'where it all started', do you mean you were with her the whole time?"

At first Ganondorf said nothing at first then said, not looking at the Mario brother, "Not exactally..."

Luigi sported a look of confusion to that reply.

"I'll explain later," he then said, continuing to look out.

Luigi did the same thing, as they continued to fly to the temple.
