The figure starts to leave as Nova said, relaxed, "It's not a threat anyway."

"Wait...Carol? Caroline? Is that you?" Elfilin asked.

This got the figures attention and stops.

"Caroline?" I asked.

"Yes, shes the one that tried to stop Elfilis before...she got turned..."

"Uh," Luke didn't know what to say to this, and neither did the others at this time.

A paw was seen on a tree nearby before a leopard like cat comes out.

She puts her arms down before studying the groups.

"It's ok, they are friends here," Elfilin said, Kirby nodding.

"Does she understand us?" I asked.

"Sorry, but like Gormondo...she is slow to understand you. I can translate for you however."

"How convenient," said the clone, studying the leopard right back.

You could hear soft meows as she walked up.

"I don't want to tell you, but Elfilis somehow came back..." Elfilin said, and we could hear a nasty cry, if not a 'roar' come out of her in rage.

"I can tell that was something she didn't want to know," Neutron said.

"Yeah...mostly because of what happened to Leon..."

"Leon?"

"He's the leader of the group."

Ralf in the back of the group started to get a call in his mic and answers it.

"Nothing good, I'm assuming?" asked Tikal about this Leon guy.

"He's fine now," Elfilis said.

An explosion was heard nearby and Nova said, "Another of those bombs went off nearby."

"I have a sense of dread on this one..." Neutron admits, walking ahead.

I looked past a little bit to see a fun house that was hit by the bomb and Nova stayed well away from it, hearing his mind scream of danger for most of the party as well as seeing what would happen to most of them in his head, if they stayed in it for more than an hour, making him growl.

"OK, from what I'm seeing from you, the danger is high," I said.

"Not just...we won't last for very long just breathing its air. Hour tops..." Nova said

"Hour...tops...?" Ralf asked, "Wait a minute this sounds familiar."

"Something you should talk about solider?" Neutron said.

"I wasn't there, but I heard reports about this...case. It was long before I was a mercenary. An infection started in an underwater base where, as you say, turns a person...or rather anything with flesh into mutants...in an hour"

"Wait...you said anyone with flesh?" Torial asked.

"Yes...that means us," Clark said.

"I don't think we have a problem," she said looking at Sans, "Least where we are from."

"What do you mean?"

"Sans, Papyrus, Gaster, Undyne, and I will be fine."

Thinking he wondered, "How?"

"Nothing bad to the skeleton family, but they don't have flesh anyway," she said, "As for Undyne and I...we are kind of the same. Where we are from, besides us being humans before, but our forms are that of left over magic or mana."

"im a little scared, I'll be honest," Sans said

"Great," sighed Pit after hearing about the bomb as well as the air conditions.

"I don't know what's worse; being dead, or being a mutant," Viridi said.

"But wait," Pit turns to the monster group, "you guys are dead? Even the skeletons? Were you guys living beings before? How did you die?"

"UH-" Papyrus was taken aback on the questions, "WELL, IT'S-UH-"

"Pit, don't dig into anyone's personal business," Palutena kindly scolded, "unless you're ready to provide an answer if they ask you the same question! It's only fair!"

"Oh!" Pit sulked back, "Uh, sorry. Forget I said anything!"

Trial laughs and said, "It's perfectly fine. Our world can be confusing."

"that has been a thing for years, but now, no different from humans. we just work differently," Sans said.

"Help! Can anyone hear me?" a voice was heard on the other side of the portal, "I don't know why, but people changed into 'things' is minutes! Then they started growling like animals! I'm glad I'm out of reach but..."

"We are on it!" Undyne shouts back, "Stay safe and hidden and we will get you out!"

"I'm going to join you as well," Mono said, "I know the air won't effect me."

Undyne rushes into the portal, while Sans wasn't sure and asks Papyrus, "could you keep an eye on me? i know i could get picked off fast..."

The men turn to the portal after hearing a voice, but didn't make a move just yet.

Neutron gets an idea and makes pins appear after calling them in and says, "I hope this works too..."

"If it's just the air, I'm not sure," Gengrel admits.

Nova growls at this shortcoming. He sensed something on the other side and said, "Undyne better be careful."

We get a surprise as one such creature walks by the portal.

"No Neutron..." Ralf said, "A barrier to just focus on the air is no good. All it takes is a scratch from an infected one and it's over."

"Armour is needed then?" I asked, to see him shake his head.

"Torial made the right call the way you all are made of magic as you say," Gangrel said.

"Wait, what about androids?" Goku asked.

This made him think about that.

"welp, not much we can do now, but go in...my bones are rattling and it's not a pun," Sans said.

"Fine," said Armstrong, "let's get this over with."

"Just because you lost your sense of fear-" Tikal chimed in, making Armstrong turn to him, "doesn't mean you should be reckless."

"Yeah, you heard what was said about the infection?" Luke said.

"All right-" Armstrong stepped back, "then by all means, you go in, and tell us how things are on the other side."

"Would you stop messing around?" huffed the clone as he walked toward the portal and looked through.

"Wait...there is one thing. Ever heard of a rebreather?" Nova asked.

"A rebreather?" Peac0ck asked, "What's that?"

"I cannot say that I have," Alvis replied.

"Sounds like a monster from our world, doesn't it, Pit?" Palutena spoke.

"Sounds like one that breathes fire," Pit chimed on.

"No no," Gangrel said, "A rebreather. It filters out the air as you breathe."

Nova changes back to his old self before pressing buttons on his gauntlet.

"That's a good thought too," Neutron said, "As well plan."

"I've never heard of it before," admitted Tikal, "is it a device?"

"It is. There's ones for medical and others for diving underwater," he said as Nova makes a mask appear just for that.

"oh yeah, i remember those things. i saw one at the dump back home," Sans said, "i guess i should have picked it up and cleaned it."

"Oh, those," Tikal was taken aback, "never thought they had a proper name."

"I'll be honest, neither did I..." I admit.

"We don't need that many people in there so, who wants to join the monster family group to save that person?" Nova asked, and knowing Armstrong, he gave a rebreather to him, "I'm backing out. I tend to...change what I see and I don't need this."

Most of the team weren't sure, but Chara said, "I'll go. I want to see how tough they are."

The clone gives her one as well and Ganondorf takes one as well, not even bothered by the risk.

"I think you're good to go anyway," I said, "Good luck."

Steven takes the rebreather in his hand and looks at it for a bit, before taking his glasses off to store them in his front shirt pocket, then puts the rebreahter mask on, before turning to his team, "Anyone else want in on the fun?"

"I'll pass, thanks," said Tikal.

"Sure, why not?" Luke replied, taking a rebreather for himself.

"What about you?" the mage mentioned to the clone.

"No thank you," he replied to Tikal.

"Lets go," Ganondorf said and walked in.

Sans follows in as did Chara and Mono.

I start to wonder why Ganon wanted to go as well.

"I'll stay and help keep an eye on everyone else," said Palutena.

"I'm not going anywhere," said Pit.

"I take it the air there might affect you two?" Jade asked them.

"I don't know, and I don't want to find out."

"OK, then I'll go," Jade grabs a mask and also stores his glasses away, "no sense in all of us going and slowing each other down."

"Excuse me?!" Viridi stepped forward, "I'm not going because one, I don't know how the air will effect me, and two, I'm not wearing a mask."

"THAT'S your excuse?" Pit questioned.

"Apologizes," Alvis chimed in, "but I believe I would be needed out here."

Jade sighed as he puts the rebreather on, "All right, then I guess I'll go by myself."

That's when Papyrus walks forward, putting his knight helmet on, "NO WORRIES, HUMAN! THE GREAT PAPYRUS SHALL GO WITH YOU TO SERVE AS YOUR BODYGUARD!"

Gaster didn't say anything, but decided to remain outside as he and the others watch Jade and Papyrus walk through the portal.

Once the small party got inside, the voice was heard again asking, "Anyone there? Please tell me I'm not hearing things...well more then growls, and snarls..."

"We got you," Chara said, Sans looking around quickly for more of those mutants.

"i don't know what's worse...them or the amalgamates..." he said.

"I'm guessing something in your world?" Ganon asked.

"an accidental fate with some monsters. when we get back, maybe Nova can help them again."

He didn't say anything else to that and kept walking.

Armstrong and Luke follow through the portal without question.

Opening one door there was a mutant and it turned to Jade and walked over, ignoring the monster family until Undyne jumped on it and stabbed it's back with her spear.

"Quite a few of those things here," she said, and Torial gave her a glare.

"You could have been killed! Don't run off like that!" she shouts.

"now this sounds familiar," Sans thought, with a grin.

"Someone is there! And talking normally! Oh thank goodness! Come to my voice. By the sound of that...you should go two doors to your...right then a door straight ahead! That should help," the voice said again.

Jade was about to get this spear out before seeing Undyne get to it first.

"THAT WAS CLOSE!" Papyrus sighed.

"Thank you-" Jade told Undyne before hearing a voice, making him quickly turn to the sound, "Well...think we can trust it's direction?"

"why does it sound...mechanical a tiny bit?" Sans asked himself, "or am i crazy?"

"Nervous still, Sansy?" Chara teased.

"i don't need this. besides, how do you know it's not changing while we are here?"

"That's enough..." Mono said.

"and if it's someone to worry about...it's you. i can tell you aren't well," the skeleton thought

"Should we go check it out then?" asked Armstrong.

Luke didn't reply but waited on an answer.

"Lets just keep moving," Ganon said, walking ahead, "Don't fall to far behind."

"i can see why she's nervous of him. he's got this aura of dread too..." Sans admits.

"Not much to say on that. I know the feeling anyway," Chara said following.

Right...her father.
