After managing to calm himself a little, Ephraim finally spoke, "Fish, as I know, is out of the question." And he was serious, but still hungry.
"I can understand that," Marth said under his breath, then spoke out loud, "you still want to go back to your place?"
"Please? And...the other two are welcome to come."
Eliwood smiled, "Yes. It's the least we can offer after what you've done."

"Thanks," I said, then helps Ganondorf with his cape.
"Yes thanks, you guys," he said, "I'm going to have to dry myself, I guess."

"I have plenty of room, and some spare cloths if you need 'em." he said, "I need to change out myself."
Ephraim walked ahead of everyone, "My shack is made of wood, but I still have a fireplace. Don't worry, I've worked on it this past year so the shack won't go up in flames if there was ever an accident. I made triple sure of it."
"That's good to hear," Marth said.
"We still haven't caught anything to eat," Eliwood said.
"Right after I change, we'll hunt for some elk or something."
"Elk sounds good to me, I suppose, or whatever else we find."

I cringe to that, while Ganondorf said, "I'm good when it comes to food myself. I can't meat or fish in the first place anyway."
(gtg, it's late over here)

((I was going to leave anyway. I'm starving myself again *at 1am*. That's what happens when I'm busy like this: I stay up and don't eat. No joke.))
"Why not?" Eliwood asked.
Ephraim looked at Ganondorf2, "You don't like meat, I take it. That's OK, there are alternatives."
"Don't berries, roots, and nuts grow here?" Marth asked.
"They do, but some of them are not edible for us. Around these parts, anything like that are highly toxic."
"But...you've been around here long enough to determine what's edible and what's...fatal, right?" Eliwood asked.
"I have, so you can trust me."

"I'm allergic and G2 just doesn't like animals hurt, that's all," the clone said, "I had to survive once on plants around wooded area's like this once before so I know just as much as you guys on the right stuff to eat."

"The more who knows, the better," Marth said, "still don't get how one can be allergic to meat."
Once the three swordsmen made it to the shack, Ephraim walked in first and grabbed a chunk of wood that was right beside a fireplace.
"Marth and I will take care of things, Ephraim," Eliwood said, "just sit down and rest a bit."
No response was heard from the prince as he did what he was told. He pulled up a chair, which like everything else, was made of wood, and sat down gripping the blanket. Everything was smoothed out enough to insure splinters wouldn't be an issue. The only thing that was made of bricks was the fire place, which was used as a heater, of course, and doubled as a cooking area. All in all, the shack was pretty simple looking, inside and out.
After some branches were in the fireplace, Marth rubbed a couple stones together, causing them to spark and the branches caught fire.
"All right, so maybe we'll try the fish again, and this time, we'll have to go a little more upstream where it's gentle," Ephraim said as he took the blanket off and sat down near the fire.
"Should've thought about that before," Marth said, shaking his head.
"All in favor?" Eliwood started.
"Wait, what about Ganondorf? He can't eat meat, remember??"

"Yeah but-"
"There are some edible stuff besides animals, I said," Ephraim said, "but I have to be there to determine what can be eaten." He took the blanket off and stood, though his cloths were still damp.
"Are you well enough to go anywhere?" Marth asked. The hunger was catching up to him, but he didn't admit it.
"Yes I am."
"No. You and Marth stay to keep an eye on things," Eliwood said, "besides, you've been in enough trouble today. I'm just as aware of what's poisonous and what's not, too, so I'm going in your stead."
Ephraim sighed. "Suit yourself," annoyed, he turned his back against the rest.
"I think that's a better idea anyway," Marth said with a smile, "just be careful guys."
Eliwood proceeded to the door.

Ganondorf follows them closely to back them up, just in case.
I stay back to keep an eye on the place.

Once in a forest, various types of plants and moss covered the trees and the forest floor. Them and the branches made it hard to walk through, as it was possible to get one's feet tangled up or even ambushed by a wild animal.
"Maybe Ephraim should've came with us after all," he said to himself. He didn't want the others to worry, so he kept it to himself.
A couple of mushrooms were seen growing out of a tree, and Eliwood went to check it out.
"Sulfur Shelf," he said, identifying the name of the mushroom, "perfect."
He takes his sword and starts cutting the mushroom away from the tree bark. After getting a good supply, he puts his sword away and heads to the river to catch some fish.

At one point, Ganondorf heard a hiss and said, "Stop! I think there's snake by you!"

The swordsman stumbled, almost dropping the mushrooms, but he caught his balance and stood still. Despite being annoyed, it was well expected in a forest like this.
"Ephraim didn't say a word about snakes," Eliwood said, annoyed. He would be mad if it wasn't his own idea for going in Ephraim's stead, so the only person he could blame was himself, if he got bitten, which he prayed wouldn't happen.

"I'll get it," Ganondorf said, then looked around for it then finds it, "Dang, not a moment too soon. Don't worry, I got my eye on it. I rather it bite me."

"Are you crazy?" Eliwood asked, "What, you've been bitten so much your blood's immune to poison?"
It was obvious that the swordsman forgot a lot about the clone. It was understandable since the two haven't seen each other in so long. He slowly started to move away from Ganondorf and the animal itself.

Ganondorf laughs and said, "Wow, it must have been a while. Did you forget that my blood is toxic in the first place?"
He raises one hand and slowly gets ready, before grabbing it by the neck before it even got a chance to strike, "Gotcha!"
He lifts it and took a good look at it, thinking.

A sigh of relief left Eliwood after seeing Ganondorf grab the snake without harm to anyone.
"Yeah, I guess I did forget." he admitted, then his attention turned to the snake, "So what type of snake do you think it is?"

Ganondorf laughs a little, and said, "I see why, but this guy might help us."

"Think about this for a second. Any food or anything valuable we have will attract animals or people we don't need," he said then made a bag appear then puts the snake in it, before tying a knot.

"Ok, I think I get it, but I wouldn't want to threaten anyone with a snake unless they pose a threat themselves," he said.
A trickling stream was heard just a short distance from the two.
"I think there's a stream nearby."

Eliwood walked over to the sound, and both were right. A calm stream was in front of them, and a few large fish were swimming with the current.
"What do you think?" he asked Ganondorf.
***
Boredom struck Marth more so than the hunger now. His eyes wandered the house when something caught them.
"Hey, what's this?" he picked up the item.
"Just an old book I found," Ephraim said, "it tells how some far away land was formed and what happened during...something called The Imprisoned War. There's sketches in it, of creatures that existed during that time period...and a little after that time."
"Mind if I take a look?"
"Go ahead." he said with a smile.

"Looks good to me," Ganondorf said, "Do you have anything to catch it with?"

"That sounds famliar to me," I said.

"Just my sword," he said, taking it out of it's sheath, "I don't mind doing some spear fishing, whatever gets the job done."
***
Marth skimmed through a few pages and found something that caught his eye. The picture was too faded to make out, but it looked like a triangle symbol with three stones surrounding it: colors were red, blue, and green. He turned another page and saw two sketches of swords: a blade with a winged looking handle, and a more darker and sinister counterpart. Both had the triangle symbols on the blade. Marth skimmed a few more pages, and this time, a rough sketch of a black reptilian monster was seen, with many rows of sharp teeth and a spike in it's forehead.
"Whoa! What is THAT?!"
"I have NO IDEA, but whoever sketched that, he or she must've had a pretty good imagination...or a good eye for detail, if it really existed." Ephraim said.

He proceeded into the water and stood still.

"Really now?? I hate to ask, but...could you please tell me about it?"
"I'm interested, too." Marth said.

Ganondorf just stayed in the shore line, watched and waited.

"He was huge for starters, in this form," I said pointing at the picture, "Each step it took, made the ground shake."
