No title *Finished*

[The Melee Master]

Super Mario Brothers 3 is my favorite NES game, and it was made Feb 12 1990! That's 14 days before I was born, and on the same year, too!! ;D

I'm currently working on the next chapter, so hang tight.

Chapter 12

"C'mon, there's gotta be a way out of here!" Link said as he literally cut his way through the jungle. He hacked and slashed any vines and plants that were in his way.

"I'm sure we'll find it!" Pit said.

Marth sighed with disgust, then thought to himself, "The sooner we get out of this humid jungle, the better."

Link continued walking. Marth looked around, suddenly confused.

"Uh, Link...haven't we been here before?" he asked.

"What do you mean?"

"This place looks familiar." Marth walked ahead of Link, "Can't you tell?"

"No. How can you tell? Everything looks the same in this jungle. Besides, we were going straight the entire time, so how can we be going in circles?!"

"You tell me, Mr twenty-something year 'Master Explorer'!" Marth taunted.

Link shot a glare at him.



"Guys, I see something up ahead!" Pit said as he flew ahead of them.

"What? What is it?" Link asked.

"Smoke! Something's burning!"

Pit lands on a platform and tries to figure out where the smoke was coming from.

"Well?" Link asked.

"I can't make it out!"

"Then I'm going ahead." Link said as he ran off.

"Wait, what about us?!" Marth shouted, but Link was already gone.

"He moves pretty fast for someone who carries all those weapons with him." Pit said.

"I'll say. C'mon, let's try and catch up!"

Marth and Pit took off.

Meanwhile back in the training arena, Sonic was trying to warm up and practice his fighting techniques. He charge up his spin attack and set off, about to hit a wall. Instead, he jumped and did a backflip.

"At least by joining Ganondorf, I'll know what he's up to." he said to himself.

He did a few punches and kicks before jumping onto the ledge, then he jumped down, performed another homing attack, and landed on his feet.

"Taking sides with evil. Riiiiight! Just who in the world does he think I am?!" he continued while stretching his leg out.

"Even if my own life is threatened, I'll never betray my allies, but...I have to play this out, just this once...for the sake of my friends."

Sonic jumped back up and charged for another spin attack, and unleashed. He then felt like he had hit something...or someone, then stopped.

"I'm sorry!" he said, "I didn't see you-"

Sonic c0cked his head to find ROB on the ground, twitching. ROB got up.

"...Uh, hello there." he said.

ROB flailed his arms around.

"What do you want? I'm training here!"

ROB responded by grabbing Sonic, hanging him upside down, and dribbling him like a basket ball. Sonic did a spin dash and attacked ROB, then kicked him away.

"So you wanna train with me? All right then, take this!"

He then jumped on ROB's head and jumped up and down.



ROB backed off and fired a beam at Sonic. Luckily, he was able to dodge it.

"Ha! Too fast for you!"

ROB placed his hands on his hips.

"Ok... So, if you don't want to train, then why are you here?"

ROB moved his arms up and down.

"So you ARE training? What's your story?"

ROB didn't respond, but used his robo burner to perch himself on one of the arena's pillars. He moved his arms up and down, as if he was trying to tell Sonic he's 'king of the world'.

"So many questions, and very little answers." he said to himself, "I don't think I'll ever be able to understand you..."

Sonic then continued on with his training.

I guess you can say, like Wario, ROB is another comical character I threw in. ;D Sonic was a little out of character in that chapter, though...

I noticed that, because Sonic gets along with one of Robotnik's robots...E-101Gamma wasn't it?

E-102, really, and that was only because Amy stopped Sonic from attacking it in Sonic Adventure

Chapter 13

Peach stood up and paced around her cell.

"I can't give up now." she said to herself, "...Ohh...if only I had brought my stuff with me! I could try to get out of this myself for once! But...I'm just a princess..."

She placed her hand on the stone pile and sighed, "And a princess should not be treated like this."

Suddenly, Peach heard footsteps approaching her. She kept quiet and slowly backed into the corner. The stone wall broke and Wario was seen carrying Samantha.

"What did you do to her?!" Peach hissed.

"If you weren't wearing a dress right now, I'd do the same thing to you!" he said.

Wario threw Samantha in the cell with Peach, then blocked the entrance back up.

"No wait!" she shouted, running toward the stone pile. She tried to push it out, but failed. Peach walked back over to the corner and kneeled down.



"Samantha?" she asked.

Samantha opened her eyes and stood, but stumbled as she did.

"Take it easy, you...you look like you've been beaten." Peach said, "What happened?"

"Wario happened." she said, sitting back down.

"Wario did this to you?"

"Yeah."

Peach took out a white cloth and handed it to Samantha. She took it and tried to clean up her face the best she could, then threw the cloth down.

"I'd try and get out of here myself, but I didn't bring my stuff with me."

"I got mine." she said, taking out her Paralyzer, "Luckily, Wario was too dim-witted to take away my weapon. Hold on, princess, I'll get us out of here as soon as I fix it up."



Peach waited for a few minutes as Samantha tried to get her paralyzer working again.

"It must've lost it's charge after-ah, here we go!"

She began charging her Paralyzer.

"Are you sure that thing can break them?" Peach asked with a worried look om her face.



"No, but there's no harm in trying."

Peach stepped back and Samantha shot a blast at the stone pile. The attack did no kind of damage what-so-ever.

"What? Oh, so Wario knew this was gonna happen." Samantha said, "So that's why he didn't take away my weapon!"

"He can be pretty clever when he wants to." Peach said, "espeically when there's money involved."

"You think that's why Wario's with Bowser? Because he think he's getting paid?"

"I don't know. I wouldn't trust a thing that turtle says."



"And yet you guys play sports with each other?"

"He likes a challenge, and I'm not as soft as you think...when I have to be." Peach admitted.

"I know. You've beaten me 5 times during Brawl matches."

Peach giggled.

Mario, Luigi, and Daisy found themselves in a far part of the Mushroom Kingdom, or what was left of it.

"I can't believe it's-a-been years since we've been here!" Luigi said.

Mario nodded in agreement.



"I remember it being so green, so...florish." Daisy said as she caught up, "This place must've suffered plenty of hardship."

"At-a-least it means the Goombas and Koopa Troopa's are wiped out." Luigi said.

"Mario, do you know exacily where we're going?"

"I've-a-been in this area hundereds of times!" he answered, "Of course I know where I'm-a-going!"

He took off with a running start. Daisy tried to keep up.

"Wait, we don't even know where Bowser has taken Peach."

"In his castle, thats-a-where! That's-a-where he's been keeping her for over 20 years!!"



"He's quite predictable!" Luigi said as he ran with them.

"I hope your right." Daisy said as she ran ahead of Mario.

"Wait!!"

"What, Luigi?"

Luigi ran ahead and jumped in a ditch.

"Mamamia!!" Mario shouted.

"I'm-a-ok!"

Luigi was seen wedged between the ditch's walls.



Daisy sighed, "Luigi..."

"Go!"

"Whatever you say."

As Luigi heard Daisy run closer, he suddenly remembered, "Wait, Daisy wears high heels! Daisy, wait-!"

The princess leaped to the other side. Luigi was shaking with fear, causing him to slip down a little.

"Ah!"

Mario ran and jumped to the other side as well.

"That stunt of yours wasn't necessary, Luigi, but nice try." Daisy said, then ran off to catch up with Mario.

"Uhh..." Luigi said, then he jumped onto the ledge and continued onward.

Thank you! I also use CPU's for this story. I take a random snapshot and whatever looks good, I add it. I also sometimes use 4 controllers or less, which is a little harder.

Chapter 14

Meanwhile, the stray fox continued on his own mission.

"So...this must be Shadow Mosses Island." he said.



"Looks like everything's going according to plan, but now where's David?"

Static was heard through his radio.

"Better be on your toes, McCloud. I don't think your alone."

"Yeah, I sense someone here, too." he said, "Where are you?"

"I'm almost there, just hang on. Over and out."

The fox sighed at that and looked around, "Everything seems clear...but-"

His ears twitched as he heard the sound of banging metal. A figure jumped down from the roof.



"There's another?" the dark one thought.

Fox dusted himself off and twirled his blaster in one hand before putting it back.

"That could take some getting use to." he said.

"Wait...that fox-"

"Huh?"

Fox looked up and spotted the darker furred fox on a platform. He jumped down and Fox backed away.

"Who are you?" the dark one asked.

"My name is Fox McCloud, leader of the Star Fox team!" he answered, "Who are you?"

"Fox? Then...you must be James's son."

"...You knew my father?"

"Perhaps I have said too much already."

The fox turned around and was about to walk away, but Fox dashed in front of him.

"Why won't you tell me who you are?"

"I'm sorry, but my identity must remain hidden."

"Then why are you here?"

"I'm afraid that information is also very confidential." he said, "But just to clear things up, I am not an enemy...unless you consider me one."

"McCloud, what's going on?" he heard Snake say through his radio antenna, "I hear another voice."

"McCloud?!" Fox said. He took out his blaster and aimed it at the stray, "Why are you stealing my identity?"

The dark fox grabbed Fox McCloud.

"Look kid, I really don't want to hurt you. I just want to finish my mission."



He releases Fox, "Now stay out of my way!"

The stray walked ahead of Fox. Fox gabbed him by the tail and swung him around, slamming him against the wall.

"I don't know who you are, but something deep in my skin tells me that I really can't trust you!" he said.

The dark one stood up, dusting himself off, "I promised I wasn't going to hurt you, but seeing that you need some sense knocked into you..."

He kicked Fox square in the chest and threw him against the wall. Fox jumped off the wall and charged toward the stray, then slid across the ground, tripping him. Fox then grabbed the dark one and slammed him onto the ground, then took out his blaster and shot him several times.

The stray used his arms as a spring to kick Fox in the air, then he jumped and kicked him across the platform. He took out his blaster and aimed it at Fox, but Fox used his Fox Illusion to knock the blaster out from his hands.

Fox grabbed his counterpart tightly.

"No wait!"



Before he could talk again, Fox threw him against the wall, causing it to shatter. The stray used reflect and the pieces bounced off him without harm. He then jumped away from the rubble and landed behind Fox. Fox turned around.

"You and I are the same; a creature with fox blood and human blood." the stray said, "And yet you see me as a threat. Why is that?"

Fox walked over to the stray, "I just want an answer."

The fox was silent.

"Who are you?"

Chapter 15

The dark fox looked at his counterpart, but didn't answer his question.

"Answer me." Fox said.

"I told you before, kid, I cannot reveal who I am."

"Ok...then explain why you took my last name."

"It's my codename, or at least I thought it was until I heard about you."

Fox didn't say anything, but slowly reached for his blaster. The dark fox jumped over Fox and kicked his own blaster right in his hands.



"I gotta admit, your pretty good." Fox said.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a mission to complete."

"Mission? What mission?"

"I haven't been told what it is yet, and besides that, I don't think it's any of your business."

"McCloud, what the hell is going on!?" he heard Snake say in his antenna.

Fox heard that as well, and channeled his antenna to where he could speak to Snake, "You tell me, Snake!"

"Fox?"

"What's this stray doing here, and how do you know him?"

Snake sighed, "...I'm sorry Fox, but this is a top secret mission only for-"

"Did you give him the 'codename' McCloud?"

"Take it easy, Fox. He's an old friend of your fathers."

Fox's eyes widened.

"You see?" the dark one said, "I wasn't lying when I said I know your father."

"I see...and I hate to tell you this, but my father died a long time ago."

"Oh. Did he?" he whispered to himself. There was a hint of slyness in his voice.

"Sorry I cause you trouble. I'm not usually like this, to be honest."

"It's ok, I understand, somewhat. Now I really need to continue this."

The dark fox pressed a gadget hanging from his belt loop and he vanished in a blue flash. Fox scratched the back of his head and took off.

Samus continued his own mission in finding his cousin, which lead him to Delfino Plaza. Samus kneeled down under a sun roof and sighed.



"I know they can't be here," he said, "too many people around...or whatever those big nosed creatures are. Oh well, I've seen worse during my missions."

He spotted a boat that was starting to move away from the harbor. Samus stood up, "It's now or never!"

He charged at the boat and jumped into it as it sailed away from Delfino Plaza.

Samus stood at the bow of the boat and looked ahead of him. The breeze was blowing, but because he had his phazon suit on, he was unable to feel it blow against him.

"I don't know where this'll take me," he thought, "but I can't just sit and do nothing."



A thought ran through his mind, "Wait a minute, who's driving this thing?!"

Samus walked to the middle of the boat and slammed down his foot a couple times. He didn't get any answer.

"Well, that's odd."

"Stop that!" a voice called.

Samus looked up and spotted a young kid.

"How did you get on this ship?" the kid asks.



"Link, is that you?!"

The child jumped down from the top of the boat, "What are you doing on here?!"

"Sorry." he said, "I thought this boat would take me-"

"This boat is set for a 3 day cruise around the ocean. It just got fixed up, so I'm taking it for a test drive."

"3 days?!!"

"It's so I can train by myself."

"D@mn..." he said under his breath, "I'm in a hurry. See, Samantha has been taken by Wario, and I got to find her as soon as possible!"

Unfortunately, Link had nothing to say about that.

"Wait a minute, the driver of this boat retired last year, so how are we-"

"Don't worry." he said, "Falco just installed a device so that the boat drives itself. We'll be OK as long as it doesn't shut down."

"How often does that happen?" Samus asked, afraid of the answer.

"I don't know, Falco said it has some faulty in it."

"Great." Samus plopped down on the ground.



"Why don't you take off that armor and give yourself some fresh air?" Link said, "the scent of the sea salt is very nice here, I think you'll like it."

"No thanks, kid. I never take off my helmet unless I need to."

"I've never seen your face before, either."

"You and the other newcomers haven't, but the old members know what I look like, and I prefer to keep it that way for a few more years." Samus said.

"Why?"

"Well-"

Before he was able to continue, an explosion rocked the boat and smoke covered the entire ship. Samus stood up and used his smash shield to cover himself from the smoke.



"What was that?!" he asked.

Chibi Link jumped onto the highest pillar on the ship and looked into his telescope.

"We're under attack!" he cried.

Thank you! I got two more chapters done this morning, too. And I came up with a nickname for WWLink myself: Chibi! ;D

Chapter 16

Samus turned around turned realized that a cannon had been fired, and whoever was firing it was attacking directly at the ship.



"What's going on?" he asks.

"It's an automated canon!" Chibi said, "It's set to go off every time something passes in front of it."

Another cannonball shot out and smashed into the ship.

"This boat can't take as much damage as it use to."

"I'll go see if I can reprogram it!" Samus said, "maybe I can make it change course!"

Before he was able to get inside the deck, another canon smashed into the boat, this time, destroying it for good. Samus and chibi Link were thrown into the Great See. Samus resurfaced and saw that the boat was completely destroyed; debris were floating around him.

As the cannon finally stopped firing, Chibi resurfaced and lets out a cough.

"Can you swim?" Samus asked.

"Yeah, but not for long." he answered.

"We gotta get to the nearest shore possible. It's too dangerous to be out in open water."

"Yeah."

The two began to swim, while looking out for possible danger.

A little while later, Link found himself at a deserted battle ground.

"Great, now what?" he thought.

He looked behind him and noticed that he had lost the group.

"Marth!! Pit!!" he shouted, but there was no answer, "d@mn!"

Link continued on his trek, this time, by himself, or so he thought. Despite the emptiness of the battle fields, he felt as though someone was watching him. In response to that, Link took off as down the trail as fast as his legs could take him.



He found the back entrance of the castle and walked inside cautiously.

"So far so good." he thought to himself.

He made his way inside a little more while keeping his guard up, but then spotted three armored knights ahead of him.

"Hey!" one of them shouted.

Link took off running in the opposite direction.

"Stop him!"

Three more guards ran after him, and as much as he wanted to defend himself, Link didn't have time to stay and cause more trouble. He ran through the castle, trying to lose the guards, but they were hot on his trail.

"I'm not going to lose them like this!" he thought to himself.

Link took out his boomerang and threw it at the guards.



The attack didn't seem to do any good. The wind stopped and the boomerang bounced off their armor. In a hasty attempt to escape, Link charged, took a bomb out, which lit itself once it was expose to open air, and dropped it in front of the guards. He picked up his boomerang upon passing.

The bomb exploded in a ball of fire, and Link didn't turn back to see if the guards made it out OK or not. As he finally reached the stairs, a voice called out.

"Stop! This is as far as you can go!"

Link looked up and saw Marth on one of the castle windows. He jumped down from it.

"How did you get ahead of me so quickly?" Link asked.

"Pit flew me. I went ahead to scout the castle, and it too heavily guarded for anyone to enter!"



"Then how did you get past the guards?" Link asked.

"There's an underground railroad that leads straight to the castle, and I'm the only one who knows about it."

"How's that possible?"

"When you're a prince, or ex prince, you'd know a lot of things."

"Then let's get go-hey, where's Pit?"

"He left."

"Without informing us, first?" With that said, Link knew something was wrong.

"Follow me!"

Marth took off and Link followed after him. As they continued to look for the underground, they heard an explosion outside.

"Don't worry, this castle is more stable than it looks." Marth said.

Link wasn't sure about that, but he decided to trust Marth's word. As they ran, they found a gold door, which was chained up.

"Stand back." Link said, taking a bomb out.

Marth did what he was told. Link then threw the bomb at the locked gate.



Link then dashed out of the way as the bomb made contact with the gate, which disappeared in a ball of flame. Link held out his shield to repel any debris from hitting him while Marth used his bubble shield.

The smoke cleared and the door was heavily damaged.

"I can't believe that actually worked." Link said.

"Yet, somehow, I can." Marth said.

A few moments of running and dodging the guards, they finally made it inside the castle...but their joy was broken once they saw what happened.

"Good lord..." Marth whispered.

Thank you, and I tried to make the blood splatter here look as realistic as I possibly could. It was hard.

Chapter 17

The entire room was messy with both fresh and dry blood. The smell was sickening, but the swordsmen tried not to let it get to them.



"What...happened?" Link asked.

"Seems like a massacre." Marth said.

"Who the hell did all this?"

Marth turned around, his face filled with concern.



"Why does it feel like we're being followed?" he asked.

"Shh! Listen!" Link said, he snuck around the corner and heard two people conversing, but he didn't turn to get a look at them. Marth listened in, too.

"Lord Ike, I heard voices coming down this way." they heard a voice say, "Someone must've broke into the castle."

"How could they've entered when we have every possible entry blocked?" another voice said, which was familiar.

"The guards that were protecting the entries were killed, sir, and the entire throne room is literally a bloody mess."

"What?!"

"We just got done getting the bodies of our fellow knights out."

Ike stopped to think for a moment, then spoke, "Locate and barricade all possible exits, then locate the intruders. Whatever you do, do not show any mercy!"

"You want them dead?"

"This enemy castle was abandoned many centuries ago, and Japan's official government was going to destroy it, but Marth and Roy talked the government into converting it to a battle arena, and 4 years later, it officially belonged to me and the other members of smash."

"Lord Ike-"

"Get rid of any intruders! That's an order!"

"I have been informed by another one of our knights that he saw an Anubis-like creature scouting the area with blood on it's paws. That must've been the convict."

"Anubis?! Is this some kind of joke?" Ike asked.

"I'm afraid not, sir."

Marth and Link continued to listen.

"Never mind that! Go to the castle's rooftop and investigate. I'll scout the underground."

"Yes sir!"

Link and Marth heard the footsteps fade, which gave them a chance to investigate the area themselves.

"This is terrible." Link said.

"Whoever did this must be a pretty powerful being." Marth said.

"That guy said something about an Anubis creature, now why does that sound so familiar?"

Link ran toward the castle exit.

"Where are you going?" Marth shouted.

"Going to check the roof. Maybe we can get clues there."

"And what kind of clues are we talking about?" a voice said.

Link stopped and saw a person in front of the entrance.



"Ike!" Marth said.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"I know what your thinking, but we didn't do it!" Link said.

"Don't worry, I know, otherwise, there'd be blood all over you." he replied, "I'm searching for that creature, to be perfectly honest. Looks like we ran into each other at the right time!"

"I'll say!" Marth said.

"I was just heading to the underground to begin my search. You guys coming?"

"Of course." Link said.

Ike nodded, "Then let's get going!"

Ike walked ahead and lead them to a statue. He pushed it forward, revealing a dark hole in the ground. Ike lead them down the plight of stairs and soon enough, they found themselves in the molten underground.

"I hope you guys can take the heat, literally." Ike said.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine." Link said.

Marth looked up to see a light shining above them.

"What's that?" he asked.

Link squinted his eyes, trying to get a better look. He notices a creature inside the light.



"Is that...?"

"Anubis!" Marth shouted, "That's the same creature the guards spoke of!"

The Anubis-like creature lets out a yell, causing blue waves to spread around the underground. A light flashed, and the four had vanished.

((You can probably tell that last pic was heavily edited. That has got to be my best picture editing I've ever done! Took me forever to come up with a style I liked, though!))

Chapter 18

When the three swordsmen awoke, they found themselves on top of the castle roof.

"How did we end up here?" Link asked.

"Uh...maybe that thing has something to do with it!" Marth said, pointing behind Link.

Link turned around, and the creature lets out another yell, but this time, blue aura died down from it's body, revealing it's identity.



At first, Link couldn't believe who it was. The pokemon looked down at the three.

"I thought I sensed you humans here." it spoke with a telepathic voice.



"Rukario?!" Link asked, "What are YOU doing here?"

Rukario didn't answer.

"Anubis..." Marth said softly, "someone told me an Anubis creature was stalking the castle. If Rukario resembles an Anubis, then that means-"

"Your the one who murdered the castle guards!!!" Ike shouted at Rukario, finishing Marth's sentence.

Rukario snapped and charged at Ike, tackling him to the ground. Ike struggled to escape his grasp.

"And your next!" the Pokemon bellowed.



Link charged at Rukario from behind, but the Pokemon counter attacked with a kick of his leg, hitting Link in the chin. He backed away and raised his sword, about to slash Rukario, but he jumped off Ike, and Link halted his attack.

Rukario charged an aura sphere from his paws and threw it at Marth, who used counter to throw the attack back, hitting his opponent. The aura Pokemon tired to shake off the attack.

"What the heck has gotten into you?!" Ike asked.

The pokemon shot an arura sphere at Link, but he fell off the edge and the attack missed. Luckily, Marth was right above him and he grabbed Link's arm, pulling him back up.

"Are you ok?" Marth asked.

"Yeah." Link said.

"Rukario's power definitely increased since we last fought him. I think he's trying to prove it to us."

"No." Ike said, "If that were true, he would've informed us before hand. Somethings seriously wrong."

Rukario licked his paws clean and backed off from the group, now getting defensive.



"Rukario, we don't want to hurt you." Marth tried to reason with him, "but why are you acting this way?"

"Why can't we hurt him?" Ike asked.

"Because injuring or even killing a legendary Pokemon is inhuman."

"Rukario's a legendary? That's not stated in the Poke-bios!"

Marth shook his head, "No, I mean that this is the same Pokemon who fought in a war with a man named Aaron many centuries ago!"

Rukario's eyes snapped open, and the energy attack faded.

"How do you know Sir Aaron?"

Marth didn't answer.

"Answer me human, do you know Aaron or not?"

"Not personally, but I've heard stories." he said, "He's the guy who put a stop to a Pokemon war centuries ago."

"Centuries?" Link asked, "Then...how is Rukario..."

"Arceus revived me soon after I perished, telling me that it wasn't my time." the Pokemon answered.

"Arceus?"

"I'll explain later." Marth said.

"The memories of my past remain with me, along with the memories of Aaron. Arceus did not give Aaron's life back, for he despises humans." Rukario explained, "So I was forced to live my life without him, and in time, my own hatred for humans grew deep."

"How can you hate humans when you were with one?"

"In this century, the humans here are selfish, back-stabbing creatures. Therefore, I swore to never be in alliance with another human as long as I'm alive."

Link could sense that Rukario was lying.

"But that doesn't mean you have to hate us." Marth said.

"Your such a hypocrite!" Link shouted at Rukario, "You helped us with defeating Tabuu, remember?!"

"I only helped you for my own benefit; I could care less what happened to you and the others."



"Your not making any sense!" Ike said.

"Ok, now what's the real reason?" Link asked.

Rukario jumped into the air and his body began to glow.



He shot an aurora sphere at the three swordsmen, but they all took off in separate directions to avoid the attack. Link shot an arrow at Rukario, but the Pokemon shot aura from his paw, repelling the arrow and making it drop to the ground.

"I guess we have no choice but to attack." Ike said.

"Just until he comes to his senses." Link said, "he's still a good guy, remember that!"

Link walked in front of Marth and Ike and faced Rukario. The aura pokemon got into a stance, ready to attack.



Link prepared himself, and Rukario shot a blast of aura at him. Link rolled out of the way and struck him in the back with his sword, then kicked him in the head. Rukario jumped onto a ledge, and Ike decided to give it a shot and jump onto the same ledge. He charged up his sword, and slammed it to the ground. Flames sprouted from it as it hit, burning Rukario in the process.

Rukario jumped off the ledge and shot an aura sphere at Marth, but he countered it and it hit it's releaser. Rukario lets out a huff as he shook off the attack, and Link charged from behind. Before he was able to strike, Rukario turned around and shot a blast of aura at him.



Ike slammed his sword at Rukario, and he took the hit. Ike then kicked the pokemon away, and slammed his sword on him, pinning him between the sword and the ground.

"I know you won't kill me," Rukario said, "you don't have the heart."

"Try me." Ike said, pressing the sword harder against him.

Link and Marth walked toward Rukario and pointed their swords at him.

"If it's one thing we can't stand, it's a traitor," Link said.

"Or were you planning this ever since you joined?" Marth asked.

A blast of aura shot from Rukario, blowing the three swordsmen back. Rukario was about to unleash an aura sphere, but then stopped as he felt vibrations underneath him. Before everyone had the chance to figure out what was going on, the roof caved in.

((Yes, unfortunately, Lucario is one of the villains in this fic, but his true intentions are not known yet. Oh, and I'm use to using his Japanese name, so...yeah.)

I posted the same pic of Rukario twice on purpose, because one had blood and the other didn't.

I said I was going to fill up my card before I post more stuff, but it'll take a while, so I gave up.

This chapter is going to reveal the dark fox's identity, as well as the other character I mentioned a while back! ;D It's a little rushed, because I couldn't wait to show the two any longer!!!

Chapter 20

The stray fox had made it to Hyrule Temple.

"All right, now to wait for David." he said to himself.

He heard static on his antenna and Snake's voice was heard also.

"Change of plans, McCloud, I just received a message from Zelda that Samantha and Peach have been captured."

"Hm...damsels in distress, I take it. Good, yet very original." he said to himself, then spoke to Snake, "you want me to break them out?"

"I''ll take care of that now. Where are you?"

"I'm at Hyrule Temple waiting for you."

"Douglass and his partner should be heading there now, so wait for them."

The fox sighed, then looked down and spotted Zelda. Sheik then appeared in a cloud of smoke and walked toward her.

"Did you find anything?" Zelda asked.

Sheik shook his head, "No."



The fox kept quiet while slowly moving his tail, then he spotted two people prowling the temple. They jumped in front of Zelda and Sheik.

"Well well, look what we have here." one said.



"You!" Sheik said.

"We're here for the princess." Bowser said.

"What do you want with me?!" Zelda asked.

Sheik stepped in front of Zelda, "Get behind me."

"You'd better move unless you want to lose an arm!!" Bowser roared.

"No, I could use the entertainment, before we capture Zelda." Ganondorf said with a smirk.

Sheik took out some needles and shot them from his hand. Ganondorf smacked them away using the protective armor on his arm, and charged at Sheik, grabbing him. Sheik struggled to break free from his grasp.

"Prepare to die you annoying little-"

"That's enough!" a voice said.

They turned to see Captain Falcon, along with another fox, on the temple roof.



"I don't know what's going on, but your dealing with us now." Falcon said.

"Douglass?!" the dark fox said.

"How long has that stray been here?!!" Bowser asked, remembering the encounter he had with him.

"Ha! You and what army?" Ganondorf said, pulling out a bomb-omb from behind his back. He threw it at the two.

Captain Falcon and the fox took off in separate directions to get away from the bomb. It hit the roof and disappeared in a ball of fire.

"There's TWO of them?!" Bowser said, "what in the world?"

The two foxes boxed Ganondorf in from each side, aiming their blasters at him.



"Hm, don't kid yourselves." was all Ganondorf had to say to it.

Bowser jumped onto the roof of the temple, or what was left of it, and knocked the dark one away, then turned to the other fox.

"I don't know who you are, but that doesn't give you the right to interferer with kidnapping the pri-"

Ganondorf stomped on Bowser's foot, causing the Koopa King to roar out in pain. He punched him off the roof.

"After we're done, I'm going to see to it that your vocal cords are ripped out of your throat and strangled with it!!" he said angrily.

"I thought that's what you were up to." the dark one said.

"Falcon Punch!!"

Both foxes moved out of the way, but before Ganondorf had the chance to turn and see who yelled, he was sent flying.



Ganondorf was unable to recover from the attack and ended up falling from the floating temple.

"Good work, Douglass." the dark one said, then he turned to Bowser.

Bowser charged at the fox, but he ended up using his reflect attack, causing Bowser to be pushed off the floating temple.

The three then jumped from the top of the temple and walked over to Zelda and Sheik.

"That was incredible, you guys!" Sheik said.

"Just doing our job, sir." the dark one said.

"Snake WAS suppose to be here, but I guess he got caught up with something else." Captain Falcon said.

"Are the two foxes friends of yours?" Sheik said.

Before Captain Falcon could answer, he spotted a man fly in with a machine.



The man jumped down.

"Way to show up right after the battle, David." the dark fox said coolly.

"Watch it, McCloud." he said.

"McCloud?" Sheik asked.

"It's a codename I gave to him."

"Yes," the other fox said, his voice slightly lighter than the other, "but now there's no sense in hiding."

He calmly walks over to Zelda and kneels down.

"We've been called here for a mission. It is a pleasure, nay, a privilege, to be an assistance of a beautiful princess."



Zelda couldn't help but blush, "Oh, thank you."

"And your names would be..." Sheik asked.

"James McCloud, former leader of Star Fox." he said.

"James..." Sheik said, then he suddenly remembered, "wait a minute, Fox, Falco, and Wolf told us you were dead!"

"As far as they're concerned, I am."

"...What?"

"In reality, I was merely captured, but I managed to escape with Fox after Andross was killed. I've been told that Fox still isn't sure of my existence, and that is a very good thing...for now."

"What are you saying?"

"General Pepper allowed Fox to take my place as leader so he could place me in a secret Cornarian service that's only available for top ranking pilots."

"So why are you here?"

"Pepper sent me here to help Snake with a mission. He also sent another member of the secret service, to be our assistant as well."

The dark fox took off his shades.



"The name is Jordan, my last name is personal, former resident of Katina, at your service." he said, then put his sunglasses back on.

"I see." Zelda said.

"By any chance, would you two happen to be related to Fox McCloud?" Sheik asked.

"Fox is my son," James said.

"The only relation I'm in is the partnership of the secret Cornarian service," Jordan said, "that is all."

"Please do not inform Fox of my visit, or that I'm still around. Word cannot get out of the service that is taking place."

"I understand." Sheik said.

"James, Jordan, let's go." Snake said as he walked off with Captain Falcon.

"Until we meet again, my princess." Jordan said as he walked off.

James smiled and followed.

People have different opinions about James, and mine is that he's still alive somewhere. After all, Nintendo didn't officially say whatever happened to him, so that led me to believe they want US to come up with our own view about Jame's fate, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Chapter 21

Link awoke to find him and the others back in the molten underground. Marth and Ike woke up and looked around.

"Great, we're back where we started." Ike said.

Marth backed away a little, looking for Rukario as he did. He had backed to the edge of the rock, and his foot slipped.

"Marth!" Link shouted.

Luckily, the ex-prince grabbed onto the ledge with one hand, but he wasn't sure of he would be able to hold on for very long. He tried to pull himself up, but failed.

"Hold on!" Link rushed over to him.



Link held out his hand and pulled Marth up with all his strength.

"Thank you!" he said as he scrambled away from the edge.

A molten rock shot from the magma and headed toward the group. They scrambled away from it as it hit the ground, spraying very hot lava as it did.

"Now you know why I rarely come down here." Ike said.

Another molten rock shot up, almost hitting Marth, and also causing him to lose his grip on his sword, but before it fell into the magma before, the prince rushed over and grabbed it, almost falling in himself. Ike grabbed Marth's shoulder before he fell, and turned him around with force.

"Are you crazy?!" he shouted.

Marth looked at Ike, but because of his fear of almost loosing his sword, didn't say anything.



"Better be careful, guys." Link said, "Keep this rock platform as level as possible. Don't put too much weight on either side; it could very easily tip over."

Rukario levitated in the air and his eyes turned bright blue as the aura around him flourished.



Link took out his boomerang and threw it at Rukario. He had stopped the weapon with a psychic attack and threw it back at him. Link was lifted from the ground and nearly flew off the edge, but he shot out his clawshot and it attached to the rock. Link proceeded to pull himself up to safety.

"I don't know how long I can take this heat." Marth said as he started to sweat.

"What the heck is Rukario doing?" Ike asked as he looked up at him.

"I don't know, but whatever it is, it can't be good." Link said.

Rukario's body began to glow as he then lands on the ground.



The three swordsmen prepared themselves for what Rukario was planning to do, then a bright light flashed, and they saw that they were back on the castle roof.

"How did..." Link couldn't finish.

"He's a crafty one," Ike said about Rukario, "either he fixed the castle, or it was just an illusion."

"It didn't feel like an illusion." Marth said.

The pokemon charged for another aura attack. Marth charged in and tried to stop him, but Rukario unleashed it, hitting Marth and sending him flying. He slammed onto the ground.

Rukario levitated again and began to charge up more aura.



"This is bad," Ike thought, "If we don't stop him now..."

Ike jumped up and tried to strike Rukario, but instead, he made contact with a barrier that was surrounding the Pokemon, knocking him back. The castle began to shake.

"Brace yourselves!!" Link shouted.

Rukario released his attack with rage, and the three swordsman were caught in the blast.

The attack died down and all was quiet. The three swordsmen were sprawled on the roof of the castle, bleeding.

"Why?" a thought ran through Link's mind as he tried to figure out what happened.

Link opened his eyes and struggled to stand, whispering, "Why??"

He looked around and Rukario was nowhere to be seen.

"Why did this happen?"

Link then spotted Marth under one of the castle pillars. He was also in bad shape.



Link walked over to him, "Are you ok?"

Marth lets out a raspy sigh in response, telling Link that he was still alive.

"C'mon, we gotta get out of here." Link said.

Link grabbed Marth, and the prince himself tried to use his legs to help Link lift him, knowing that the Hylain was weak, too. Marth collapsed.

"Don't worry, I can handle it." Link said, "Try not to move."



Anger was racing through Link's mind of what Rukario had done, then he focused on getting Marth back to safety.

"I'll come back for you next, Ike, just hang on." Link said.

Ike didn't respond.

"Ike??"

With Ike still not responding, Link grew very worried. He tried to wipe the blood from his face and call out again, but unfortunately, the attack he suffered got the best of him. He dropped Marth, and the young hero blacked out.

Chapter 22

Rukario teleported inside the castle right after he released his aura storm attack on the three swordsmen.

"Those humans can't possibly survive that attack," he said to himself, "now to take away any suspicion."

He shot a large blast of aura from his paws, clearing up the blood from the castle. The aura around his paws continued to flourish.

As Link slowly gained consciousness, he found that he was at Hyrule Temple.

"Your awake!" a voice said.

Link looked up to see Fox approach him, "How are you feeling?"

"Awful," Link replied weakly, "where am I?"



"Your at Hyrule Temple." Fox replied, "Falco and I found you and Marth, and we brought you guys here to recover. You were pretty banged up."

Link didn't say anything.

"We cleaned you up the best we could, though there's still blood stains on your cloths."

"I can see that."

"What happened?"

"...Rukario..." Link growled.

"What?"

"Rukario was the one who attacked us! He used an attack called Aura Storm, and that's how we ended up like this!"

"Why did he-"

"I wish I knew!!"

"Calm down, you have to relax in order for your injuries to heal." Fox said, "Aura storm is Rukario's most deadly attack. You and Marth are lucky to have survived it."

"I guess but....wait....what about Ike??"

"Ike suffered the worst of the attack, and his condition is very critical."

That was enough to make Link's heart drop to his stomach.

"We're doing everything we can, but try and relax, for your sake."

Fox got up and walked away. Link sighed and laid back down, "D@mn..."

Pit, on the other hand, found himself in the desert after flying for so long.



"Ok, so I may have lost Marth and Link, but-

He hears the sound of a motorcycle running, then spots Wario.



"About time they gave me a new set of wheels," he grumbled to himself.

"What on earth is he doing?" Pit pondered, "maybe if I follow him, I'll find out."

Pit flew in the air slowly and quietly, making sure that he wasn't above Wario completely or else his shadow would be exposed and so would he. After following him for a couple miles, Pit wanted to perch himself on a cliff to rest, but then he saw that Wario was heading toward a cliff

"Look out!!" he shouted down.

The front of the bike was off the edge and Wario soon discovered it. He tried to turn his bike around, but failed to do so. He jumped on the back, trying to put as much pressure on it as possible.

"No no no!" he shouted as he was about to fall off the edge.

Pit rushed in and grabbed Wario as the bike fell from the cliff.

"Are you ok?" Pit asked.

"Huh? Uh..." Wario was confused, then snapped out of it, "You saved me?"

"Of course," he said, smiling.

"Oh...uh...thank yo-" he shook his head, "I mean, fork over the money, angel boy!"

"What?!" Pit was confused, "I just saved your life!"

"My bike fell over the cliff, and now I need money to repair it! That's the 2nd one my company had to build me already, and it's destroyed!"

"Would you rather lose your money or your life?"

Wario adjusted his helmet.



"Wario!"

"Leave me alone!"

Pit sighed, "What are you doing out here anyway?"

"None of your business, kid, now move it."

Wario pushed Pit and walked away.

"Well, at least he said 'thanks'." Pit thought, then he flew away.

----

Unfortunately for Mario and his gang, they were still wandering the deserted part of the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Mario, are you sure we're not lost?" Daisy asked, "We've been wandering this stupid place for two hours now!"

Mario turned around, but before he could answer, Daisy tripped on her high heels.



"Ow!"

Mario helped her up, "I know where I'm-a-going."

Luigi plopped to the ground and whined, "I'm-a-still hungry!!"

"We'll get food after we get out of this place."

"What do you mean WE, Mr. eat-all-our-food-behind-our-backs-spaghetti mouth??" Daisy said.

Mario sighed and shook his head, "Mama-mia."

The sound of whirling blades came to their attention. Mario looked up and saw the Koopa Clown Car hovering in the air. The Koopa king jumped out from the car.

"Bowser!" Mario said.



"Well well, if it isn't the plumber brothers," he said.

"You cold blooded creep!" Daisy said, "what did you do with Peach?"

"For once, I do not wish to fight, instead, I have come to inform you that the princess is now official property of the two kings,"

"Two kings?"

"We'll get-a-her back from your castle!" Luigi said, "just-a-like old times!"

"There's no time to be reliving the past!"

"I'm sorry, but your princess is at another castle, or in this case, dungeon!" Bowser taunted, then jumped in his Koopa Clown Copter and flew away.

"Excuse-a-me, Luigi!" Mario said as he jumped on Luigi's head.

"Ow!" exclaimed Luigi.



Mario tried to reach the Koopa Copter, but failed. He smashed headfirst onto the ground, "Oof!"

Bowser laughed as the copter flew away.

"After him!" Daisy shouted.

Mario got up and ran after Bowser, followed by Daisy and Luigi.

Chapter 23

Meanwhile in the ruined zoo.

"Sometimes I wonder why I always come back to this place," thought Lucas as he wandered around the ruins.



Some of the other smashers were busy trying to get Peach and Samantha back, while Lucas was just trying to take it easy for a change. Then again, he had no idea what was happening outside the zoo in the first place.

Unfortunately, neither did Ness, who was already at New Pork wandering around the city.

"All right, where are you?"

Ness had just received a distress call in New Pork saying that Porky was back in the city, up to no good.

"I know I sensed the call here in New Pork, now where...?"

His thoughts were interrupted by a deep laugh.

"Well well, look who finally showed up."

Bowser slammed down in front of Ness. Ness reacted quickly and shot out an attack at him.



Bowser backed off and landed a few feet from Ness.

"Big mistake, kid!"

"What are YOU doing here?"

Bowser rushed in and grabbed Ness tightly.

"I'll tell you," he said, "I am here because I have a duty, and my duty is to dispose of you as quickly and painful as possible."

Ness jabbed Bowser in the eye with his finger. Bowser released Ness and snarled, "You little-"

"I may be a kid, but you don't scare me, you never have!" Ness said, "I've battled Starman who were worse than you!"

Bowser snarled, "Looks like your not attempting to do this quietly. Fine!"

Lucas climbed a ladder and to the top of a fortress. He looked across from him, enjoying the view, but his quiet moment was interrupted with a loud boom, causing him to fall off the plank.

"PK Thunder!" he shouted.

The electrical zap hit Lucas, which made him fly onto the ladder. As soon as he found the opportunity, he grabbed onto it and slid down.

"What was that?" he thought, "it sounded like it came from New Pork City."

Lucas ran as fast as he could, but tripped on his shoe laces as a result, sending him to the ground.

"Ow!"

Lucas got up and dusted himself off, then he walked until he came across an entrance to a tunnel.



"Maybe this is a shortcut," he said to himself

Lucas decided to take a chance. He closed his eyes and ran through the tunnel without stopping. After a few seconds, though, he opened his eyes and found himself somewhere other than New Pork.

"Ok, maybe I was wrong," he said, "I don't know where this'll lead me, but I gotta keep going."

Lucas ran and dove into the water that was ahead. He resurfaced and spat out the water that filled his mouth.

"Pak! Yuck!!"

Lucky for him, he was a good swimmer, despite the water being murky and filthy. He climbed onto the nearest ledge and shook the water from his hair. Lucas then dashed off ahead and grabbed onto a rusty ladder. As he climbed up, the ladder began to squeak.

"Uh-oh!"

Lucas climbed up quickly. As he made it to the top, the ladder broke apart and fell, slamming into the ground.

"Guess there's no turning back now." he sighed.

After a few more minutes of walking and trying to find a way out of the place, Lucas kneeled down under a ledge to tie his shoe.



"Ok, so I came here to get away from the chaos back there, and it seemed to have followed me here!" he said, then groaned, "Ah! I gotta stop talking to myself!"



Lucas jumped onto a ledge and dashed ahead. He stopped at a cliff and looked down. He had finally made it to New Pork City. Lucas jumped off the ledge and ran toward it, but what he saw there had stopped him in his tracks.

Ness was still fighting with Bowser. Lucky for Lucas, he had faced Bowser many times, and won at least half the matches, but there was something about this fight that made his stomach turn. This wasn't an ordinary brawl match; it was something worse.

Lucas build up the courage to run toward the koopa king and sent out a PK Fire attack. The attack barely hit Ness, but burned Bowser.

"Lucas?!" Ness said, "what are you doing here?!"

"I was gonna ask you the same thing!" he replied.

Bowser's eyes flashed with anger, "You little twerp...!"



"What are you doing to Ness?!?" Lucas asked.

"This is none of your business, now move!!"

Bowser leaped at Lucas, attempting a body slam. Both he and Ness ran out of the way, and Bowser slammed into the ground.

"Ness, what's going on?"

"I got a call that Porky was attacking the city!" he answered.

"Again?! So where is he?"

"Porky had nothing to do with this; it was Bowser leading me into a trap!"

He stomped his foot on the ground, "I can't believe I fell for it!!"

Bowser charged at Ness and Lucas head on. Ness grabbed his bat and smashed Bowser's head with it.



"Ahh!!!" Bowser backed off.

"Nice shot!" Lucas said.

Bowser snarled at that and shot fire from his mouth. Lucas and Ness tried to avoid it, but Ness lost his footing and fell from the edge of the platform.

"Ness!!" Lucas shouted.

Bowser stomps on the ground and laughs.



"Now to take care of your for interfering!" he roared.

Lucas tried to build up the courage to face Bowser in a showdown.

Chapter 24

A few tense minutes passed before one of them decided to make a move. Bowser charged toward Lucas, then stopped as he heard something slam onto one of the buildings.

"Uh-oh. Lucas thought.

Bowser laughed, "Perfect timing!"

Bowser rammed into Lucas, then grabbed him by his shirt.

"If I don't finish you off, that chimera will!" he growled.

"Uh...not if I finish you first!"

Lucas zapped Bowser, causing him to release Lucas, giving him the chance to make an attack at the Koopa King.



Bowser recovered from the attack and snarled, "Why you...!"

Lucas tapped his foot on the ground, trying not to show any fear as he prepared to face whatever Bowser was about to throw at him. However, that braveness faded when he saw the anger in the king's eyes.

Bowser charged at Lucas head on and slashed at him. Lucas stumbled back and fell off the edge, but grabbed hold as Bowser missed him, luckily.



As Lucas jumped back on the ledge, Bowser lets out a snarl and prepared to attack. Lucas shut his eyes tightly, preparing for the worst.

"PK STAR STORM!!!!" a voice shouted.

Before they knew it, hundereds of light balls desended from the sky and rained on New Pork. Lucas dodged, then put up his bubble shield, but Bowser, being so heavy, was unable to do so, and was hit with a few attacks.

"Curses!!" he roared as he was hit over and over again.

The storm came to an end, and Lucas let his sheild down. He saw Ness on a ledge and jumped down.

"Your alive!" Lucas cried.

"Yeah," he replied, "someone saved me!"

"That was amazing, Ness; you did it!"

"But I didn't do that."

"What?!" Lucas fell backwards. He got up and dusted himself off, "But I heard you shout PK Star Storm!"

"That wasn't me!"

Bowser slowly got up off the ground, dizzy, "What hit me?"



"Well, I know it wasn't me, so if that wasn't you, then who-"

"Hey mutant, you mess with them again, and there's more where that came from, you hear me?!"

"Wha?" Bowser shook off his daze, "Grr...where are you?! Show yourself!!"

"Whatever you say! PK Thunder!!"

Bowser was rammed by the attack.



The Koopa king was sent flying, but before he was able to fall out of the floating city, he grabbed onto a ledge and pulled himself up.

Ness and Lucas ran toward the commotion, and stopped in their tracks to see a boy, wheilding a stick, who looked idenitcal to Lucas, but had different colored hair, outfit, and was slightly older.



"How dare you?!" Bowser growled with anger.

As soon as Lucas recognized the boy, he almost lost his voice.

"C...Claus?"

"Hey!" Ness shouted at Claus.

Before Claus had the chance to respond to them, Bowser shot a blast of fire at him. Claus quickly put up his barrier, and the attack faded without harming him.

Ness dashed in and hit Bowser with his baseball bat, smashing it against his head.



Bowser was sent flying off the platform, but he managed to grab onto a ledge.

"A couple of kids...can't get rid...of me that easily!" he snarled as he pulled himself up.

"PK Thunder!!!" all three of them shouted.

"Oh no."

The three thunder attacks hit Bowser dead on at the same time. Bowser roared out in pain and was paralyzed, giving them the chance to make their finishing move.

Ness took out his bat while Lucas and Claus took out their thick sticks. They slammed them into Bowser, sending him flying off the platform. As the three watched Bowser desend from the city, Ness sighed.

"What was that about?" he asked, "what did he want?"

Lucas was too in shock to speak. He turned to Claus, and Claus looked at him.

"Well?" he said, "say something."
