Hey,why not change the background color for the site?I mean, doesn't it get boring with just black and blue?

Oh ya, it is pretty boring. I actually couldn't find a suitable background that would go nicely with Smashnet, so I decided to make my own, and it looks pretty cool. So I'm going to add that as well as a few more little things which will make a huge difference in the look of the site. I'll probably update all that next time we get some good SSBB news.
Also, one more thing, is that I will try and fix up the layout of the boards, especially the stupid title which seems to always says "Hey, Pommy17, you have 2 messages, 0 are new. Sept 1, 2006, 9:35am" I gotta find a way to get rid of that.

I think i got rid of the "Hey, Pommy17, you have 2 messages, 0 are new. Sept 1, 2006, 9:35am" junk at the top... i'm not sure what else it might have messed up, so it's just temporary for now.

I was wondering why that picture seemed bigger. Truthfully, I don't like the way you took it out. That message thing can be useful, ya know. It tells if you have a personal message without you actually trying to search whether or not you have one, if you know what I mean.

Alright, it's back to the way it was. In the future though, I can add a tab that lets you check your messages, so you won't need that stuff to the right of the title bar, and I will add a new banner that will look better than the one we have now. Sound good? We'll see how things look, and then you guys can decide and suggest improvements.

How about an RPG board? I use to RolePlay a lot years ago, and I think this might be a good idea. I doubt the Battle Arena is a RolePlay type, but I kinda treat it like it is, but since the topics have already started, why not make another place in this board for the RP? People can create their own RP's and what-not, although I'm afraid they might cause trouble later on. I'm just trying to come up with something new here! lol!

What do you mean? Can't you start an RP thread in the battle arena? I don't get it. Isn't it the same thing?

I meant like a story-type or something. Its been awhile since I've Role-Played, but I'll try to explain it the best I can.
Instead of using asterisk like some of us have been doing, we do it like a story being told. A plot can be used in the RP if you choose to have a plot!! If not, then people can do whatever they want to as long as they abide by the rules...if you choose to add some. Other details can include where the character came from and how he or she began to travel to the Battle Arena, or whatever topic its going to be.
Ok, back to the rule statement! Every RP board has a set of rules to tell people what they can or cannot do, like God-modding {A person that cannot get hurt, die, and thinks he or she is above everyone else; one who thinks he/she rules the RP and can do what he or she wants to; someone who's all-powerful and can destroy all the other characters}. Someone who gets stabbed and acts as though it didn't hurt, having a power that was not stated in their bio, vanishing and re-appearing all over the place during a fight, stabbing someone and says their dead despite it being the victom's choice...all those are not tollerated in RP's! That's the #1 thing that annoys people, so I'd recommend having rules to keep people in line and to avoid a large fight between members later on!
To keep it short, the kind of RP I'm trying to tell you is kinda like a story being told by many members instead of just one. Need I go on, or do you understand everything I've just explained?

That does sound cool, but I'm kinda thinking of something like we do in the Melee Battle Arena, except it'll be an adventure type instead of a battle-it-out thing. Like...one of us starts off exploring some place, he/she gets captured and is taken to the Nintendo world. Once your in it, your personality painfully OR painlessly (Your choice) change into that of your favorite character. It doesn't matter where your at! You can appear in the Mushroom Kingdom and change into Mewtwo, if he's your favorite! You'll still have your own physical appearance ((Your real self or your character)), the only difference is that you'll have his or her cloths instead of your original clothing. ((Example; in the Battle Arenas, I look exactly like Kenshin, and if I travel to Hyrule, I would have Link's cloths and weapons, but will still look like Kenshin Himura!!)) The adventure starts after everyone travels to the Nintendo universe and transforms. And all of us don't appear in the same spot! You appear in different worlds and don't find each other until later. You can travel to different Nintendo worlds, such as Dreamland, the Star Fox world, Onett, you get the idea! And you meet with other characters and/or accidentally bump into the other members later on, depending on what world your in, as I might of stated before.
Its kinda like your own story told by many people. You can tell yours in first person or third person point of view, whatever is easier for you. How does that sound? I'm super bored, so sue me!

Can you start a topic like that in the Battle Arena? And introduce the rules and such in the first post, or does it require it's own board or sub forum? Lemme know

Can you start a topic like that in the Battle Arena? And introduce the rules and such in the first post, or does it require it's own board or sub forum? Lemme know I would suggest another place in the forum to avoid confusion between battling and actual role playing, if you know what I mean. Besides, the Battle Arena is cluttered up with different stuff, and some of them aren't very active, so creating an RP there wouldn't be a good idea. I don't know abotu a sub forum, though. It could work, but I think people would mistake it for another battle arena and so on. I don't really have a plot for the RP, though. I'm not sure what I want to do. One of my ideas was that a topic can be created so that the people's characters can just hang out and do different stuff of their choice, like in a park or at a house. I also had an idea for an RP that revolves around the characters camping at a camp site or something. And what Melee Master stated also sounds like a good idea! Anyway, that's all I got for now.

Well, i could start a new board for it, as long as people participate in it, and post a bunch of threads. Let me know the details of this board, like the title etc. (Just look on the message board home page. Like, i can call it: "Role Play - Role play here" or somethinglike that, but better. And maybe you can get a bunch of these stories going, and people can choose wheich ones tey want to participate in. When I make the new board, you can add them all in, and mod the board if you wish. let me know what you have in mind.

A few updates were put up today. Shadow Dragon will write the rules for the new Role Play sub board in the Battle section and then you guys can post.
One a sider note, lol, did any of you guys notice the minor changes on Smashnet.net, like the new background, which is pretty dark, but makes it look nicer, and the cool headings on each content page? I added the Smash Files today as well from Nintendo Power, so for those poor souls who don't subscribe, tey have a bit of info to read. And what do you guys think of the Movies Page so far. It has both Nintendo trailers on it, and I'm sure it'll grow in the future. We will definitely record our own SSBB videos in the future, especially of tournaments (local and global) and just playing for fun and doing cool tricks. Haha. But how's the site looking now? And what else does it need.
Also, one last thing, do you guys have any suggestions for the message board? Obviously we need to get some more members, but for now, how's the layout. Do you guys want more color? More images? I'd personaly prefer some more SSBB images, so I guess I'll wait a bit till they release some good material to play with.
Lets hear your input!

Well, in my opinion, the flame style look for the background is Ok, b ut it needs to be different than blue, perhaps lime green.
