...keeping in mind that this was before Nintendo wanted third party characters involved. Well, there were many rumors floating around about Diddy Kong, and that wouldn't have been too bad. Then again, we already had a light/heavy character imbalance (everybody vs. Donkey Kong), so Bowser was already on peoples' wish lists, and somebody like Wario would have been welcome to many players.

It would be cool if Nintendo out all the Melee characters and Brawl characters that we know of into SSB, and expanded all the stages and items, but kept the same SSB control, which was just perfect. If they threw in that mid-air dodge, that would work quite well with the game too.
You know for the Wii's downloadable play thing, with the 20 years of gaming? Well I'm sure that SSB is going to be of the N64 games on it, but will we have to use the GC controller or what? Will we have to use the Wii Classic controller to play this game? It would be nice if we could somehow plug in the N64 controller into the Wii, no?

If you think about it, the N64 controls weren't all that different than the GC controls. A was melee, B was special, control stick was move, C buttons were jump, L was grab and R was block (I think)... I don't think it would be hard to play the N64 SSB on a GC controller. So I think it would be a good choice to offer as a downloadable game.

The Gamecube controller is a more comfortable version of the N64 controller, and that would do fine. As we've seen in the Legend of Zelda games that have come out for gamecube* The Gamecube controller will work fine with any past Nintendo System. *Ocarina of Time: Master Quest and The Legend of Zelda four-pack, both were promotinary discs.

I don't know what to think about that. I sort of agree, and sort of...don't.

Would you like to share why you think it would be a bad idea?

I don't know. I just think having 12 characters (I think) was enough for the 64 version.
