What do you guys think about the new crouching capabilities of the characters that were seen in the second trailer that was relased? I'm really not sure. How can crouching be useful in such a fast paced game?

Hmm yeah, maybe there will be certain places on stages where you have to crawl to get under a wall or something. I think we saw that in a previous smash bros game, but I'm not sure where. I think It was like Samus's break the targets or board the platforms, where you could roll to get under a small wall. But who knows.

The reason why they did this was because Snake was joining, most likely.

I think a possible explanation is that Brawl will introduce a system where certain attacks might be at different heights, much like any standard fighting game, and ducking would allow people to dodge higher attacks. Though to balance this out, perhaps the character will take more damage from low attacks while ducking.
