Alright, I just opened my latest issue if Nintendo Power, and I got all this talk about Snake and Pit. Pfffffffft! Meta Knight's going to kick ass. He's a true warrior, he's tough, has got his invisible shield thing going on, and I'm sure he's going to be super fast. Not to mention he's by far the coolest looking character.
What do you guys think?

You can't just vote for your character! Why exactly will Link dominate? Link's old and worn down. Meta Knight is a Warp Star warrior who's fresh and ready for battle. No one has more battle experience than him!

For one thing Link's Super Smash move and has more moves and weapons then you shake a deku stick at. (Had to say it, sorry) Also, Meta Knight doesn't know the parry move like Link does in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

Why didn't you say so in the first place? I don't know; I'm stuck between Meta Knight and Snake.

Three way tie. Link, Pit, and Meta Knight. I still think Link will rule. As for the new guys, I'd say Snake sense he knows martial arts...

Spawn will throw all the characters to the lower reaches of heck! And for goodness sake,he has chains with a mind of there own that come out of his belt!!I don't think metaknight or link can block steaming hot necroplasm!!
And Meta-Ridley is a robotic terodactyl that can fly in space!Plus he has space pirates for followers, multiple weapon systems, and would make the perfect riding animal for spawn!!

I'm sure Meta Knight is going to be awesome. I can always use a new speed character to fool around with. And if he's really good, he may even make my "cool" list (that's a very selective listing, in case you didn't know). Pit looks pretty cool too. His variable-type weapon is sure to add an interesting element to the battle. Of course, I could say the same for Link. I've always enjoyed him because he has so many weapons to choose from. He's very versatile character (though he's a bit slow for my liking).
So I think all three of those characters will be cool. But if Marth comes back for a second appearance, I definately give my vote to him. I love characters with swords, because that little bit of extra reach gives you a great advantage if you know what you're doing. Marth also inhabits that enviable level of "Smash Nirvana," where speed and power are, in my opinion, perfectly balanced. He just plain rips.

If we're only going by the anounced characters, then it is very likely Link will once again come out with an advantage. I seriously doubt Nintendo is going to power Link down any, therefore he will probably own. A good link player is practically invincible, as out of four possible long-range attacks, he has three good ones, and not to mention a decent up+B and two shields.

What's the fourth long range attack that you're referring to? And which one is the one that's not so good? (that's not in the top 3 good ones?)

Since no A attack is long range, then each B attack counts as one possible slot for a long-range attack. Link has three long-range attacks assigned to the B button, but B^ is his spinning attack, which is kind of middlin range.

Spawn would have four long range attacks and ridley would probably have two

Spawn ISN'T in Brawl and might not ever be! I doubt Ridley will make it to Brawl, too.

Ridley would be an awesome character to have in brawl. Spawn's third party though, so his chances are much lower. Not to mention, that ridley's already been rumoured to be in the game. Lol, officially rumoured!

I still say that brawl would be welcoming for Spawn.

It would be Team Kirby, the twin egos (Mario and Wario) and, of course, Kirby!

It seems they've released a list of all the music behind Brawl. There's a list of games that the music comes from, hence the characters must come from those games. Character guesses anyone?

Same here Pommy, I would like to see proof for The whole Ridley, Cel SHade Link, and Baby bowser thing too.
I have been hearing those rumors for months now, that is all they are, rumors.
Unless you got proof, then there is noi way that they are in brawl without knowing.

www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music01.htmlOfficial Smash Bros website. Is that proof enough? I noticed composers from quite a wide variety of Nintendo games, including many games that didn't previously have any characters in Smash Bros. Most notably, I saw Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Chrono Trigger, and Kingdom Hearts. The name that really caught my attention, though, was Motoi Sakuraba. He composed the soundtrack for Golden Sun, which is one of my favorite RPGs. I'd love to see Isaac or Felix make an appearance; they'd be great additions to the game. Also, this may signal that Nintendo is planning to continue the Golden Sun series. Up to this point there has been no information at all regarding a third game. Of course, Sakuraba also did the music for Mario Golf and Mario Tennis. That would imply a much less ground-breaking cast of characters. Also, here's a story on the newly confirmed characters: www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3151290

Don't believe anything unless it comes straight from Nintendo themselves. I always check their official website for updates.

*sigh*
First, there's no need to get sarcastic.
Second, I realize that the "new" confirmations are a year old. I used the word "new," for lack of a better word, to distinguish them from the original confirmed characters.
Third, as was mentioned in that article that I linked to, the confirmations came from the mouth of Masahiro Sakurai, the director and game concept designer for Super Smash Bros Brawl. That's hardly an unsubstantiated rumor.
Fourth, I agree that the official Nintendo website is the best source for official news. But as we all know, they don't always provide updates as soon as they become available. And let's be reasonable: Nintendo.com is not the only reputable website on the internet.

Time to update this thread.
Ike is my new most anticipated character. I'm a fan of the Fire Emblem series, and Path of Radiance is probably my favorite so far. What's more, Ike was by far the sweetest unit in that game. He was a incredible combination of speed, skill, and power, and he was pretty much the best all-around unit in the game. I only hope his Smash Bros appearance is even half that awesome.

Hmm...come to think of it, Link is slightly an over-used character...unless his moveset gets an upgrade, which I'm sure it will. Ike, as a newcomer, may replace Link for my prediction...though it might change soon...again. As a matter of fact, I won't know until I play the game...^^;
