This is something I brought back from the old board. You can post some cool and sort of funny facts about Nintendo. The words in ( ), are my own opinions!
Seta's SNES game Nosferatu must be the most delayed Nintendo game ever. It was originally announced to be released in 91 - 92, but the game didn't come out until 95!!
When the SNES was released, Nintendo released a arcade-machine consisting of a SNES and the games Super Tennis, F-Zero and Super Mario World.
Star Fox was just an testing program to test the FX-chip capabilities, but the designers continued working on it and finally Nintendo released it and it became a big success. (I guess that explains why it was polygon.)
Some burglars broke into a Radio and TV store and stole all their Nintendo 64s, but they didn't even touch the PlayStations! (At least the burglars had good taste!! lol!)
When Nintendo on the WCES exhibition in 1995 previewed their new SFX 2 game Star Fox 2, a man from Arizona tried to steal a pre-release copy of the game, but didn't succeed and was arrested! (I have to admit, I'd steal one myself if I knew I'd get away with it, and thievery wasn't on God's 10 Commandments.)
"Who knows how Mario will look in the future. Maybe he'll wear metallic clothes!" -Shigeru Miyamoto, c1991 (And, as we all know, in SM64 he did! LMAO!)
On E3 1999, Nintendo had hired a person to walk around in a big Pikachu suit all day long. It looked like the big fluffy animal was going to faint several times and when a couple of visitors tried to hug him he lost his foothold and fell

In America, the top 5 games from 1999 where only Pokémon games. 1- Pokémon Red 2- Pokémon Blue 3- Pokémon Yellow 4- Pokémon Snap 5- Pokémon Pinball.
Did you know that Virtual Boy Sold 1,000,000 systems in 1 week? Why wasn't it that popular? Because more than half of them were returned!!
More than 40% of American homes own a Nintendo system.
Mario is recognized by more children than Mickey Mouse.
The Super NES was going to have a CD add-on but it was never released.
Link has always been a lefty. He's been that way ever since the original Zelda on the NES. (I didn't figure that out until I played WindWaker...)
The Japanese launch of the Super Famicom was filled with all sorts of problems. Some of the shops got so many orders that they ran lotteries to see which would be the happy ones to get a Super Famicom!
The Nintendo 64 was named 64 because of its 64-bit graphics
The Gamecube's code name was Dolphin and was almost officially named 'The Dolphin' (I think they changed it because they thought people wouldn't buy it just because of the name, but look how much the Wii is selling! ;D)

Yeah...
In 1993 Nintendo celebrated their 100 millionth sold Mario-game. Just before the release of Super Mario World 2, the number of sold games were 117 million!
In the USA, a burglar broke into a house and started to steal things like VCR's, TV's, and other stuff. A neighbor saw him and called the police, and when the police came, the burglar was still there, sitting and playing Street Fighter II! He said that he was getting a new record! (I knew that Street Fighter II was addictive, but this is just too much! lol!!)

I think so, too!
All the Metroid games has been best sellers in the US and Europe, but they have never been to excited about them in Japan. Metroid wasn't popular at all in Japan, but Nintendo tried to market it in the US and it became a real smash hit!
When Nintendo was to distribute the SNES, they did it with ships late at night to avoid a gang of mobsters who planned to steal all the Super Famicom's and sell it on the black market!
When Nintendo lost their trial against Galoob and Galoob was free to distribute their Game Genie freely, Nintendo started programming their games and SNES systems with a chip that made the games screw up if the Game Genie was present. That's why there is about 3 or 4 versions of Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger. (Wow, they seriously must hate their games being hacked, especially when they released that 3.0 firmware block on the Wii, but I don't think that's gonna stop Datel (Action Replay producers) from trying to hack into the console and get past firmware blockage...we'll just have to see...)

I don't like using cheats, so I don't care.

I know I've mentioned this before, but some games tend to get boring after they're beaten, and once they're beaten, I stop playing them. This is exactly why I bought the AR in the first place. I use it to find more stuff and have more fun with the game than my first play-through, never to cheat, although on rare occasions, I use it when I want to beat the game for the second time. If I need help with it on my first play-through, I can look it up on the Internet or use an official guide.
Capcom has went nuts about producing Mega Man games. They have done 21 different Mega Man games!

The snake Pokemon Arbok got its name from the spelling of "Cobra" backwards. It was changed from Arboc to Arbok for pronunciation clarification. 23: The Pokemon Ekans got its name from the spelling of "Snake" backwards. 24: The Pokemon Hitmonlee is a kicker and was named after Bruce Lee. 25: The Pokemon Hitmonchan is a puncher and was named after Jackie Chan. (It took me awhile to discover those!) 26: Did you know that Super Mario Bros and Zelda 1 has both become both cereal brands and board games? 27: One of Nintendo's weirdest commercials must be the one they did to advertise Zelda 1. It featured a wiry-haired, rather nerdy guy wandering through the dark repeatedly screaming Zelda... (WTF? )

I think it's time to bring a this thread back to life. I wanted to do the same with the 'Too Much Nintendo' thread, but no one has posted there yet... I did that for entertainment, people!!
Some 'concerned parents' were planning on suing Nintendo because their kids had sustained blisters from many a hour of Nintendo goodness. (I can't stand people like that. It's the child's fault for not taking a break, as stated in EVERY Nintendo manual, if they still read them. I still do!)
Of the top 30 best-selling games in the United States for all of 2007, half are for Nintendo systems.
Wii already boasts more than 180 games, including 120 downloadable Virtual Consol titles. By the end of 2007, that total number will climb to about 330 games, including an additional 100 new games from every major third-party publisher, along with an additional 50 Virtual Console titles.
Approximately 300 games are already available for Nintendo DS, with another 140 titles expected by the end of 2007 from every major third-party publisher.

It took over 10 men 2 whole years to produce Super Mario Bros 3!
Mario was named after Mario Segale, the landlord of Nintendo of America’s office, who barged in on a company meeting demanding an overdue rent (Personally, I find this kinda funny)
Shigeru Miyamoto drew Mario as wearing a cap because he found drawing hair difficult. He also drew in the moustache, because it was easier to see than a mouth in the crude video game screen resolution back then

The Nintendo N64 marked the first time that computer graphics workstation manufacturer Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) developed game hardware technology
The Nintendo GameCube's proprietary disc held 1.5 gigabytes of data -- 190 times more than what an N64 game cartridge could hold.
Nintendo's Game Boy was the most successful game system ever, with more than 100 million units sold worldwide.
On the Donkey Kong character trophy it doesn't have his first game listed, "Donkey Kong" but instead it has his first game as Donkey Kong Country?
