The Price of Revenge: A Bloodstained History {closed temp}

Nova was holding something in his hand as Calamity made everything darker. The sun looked blood red as the sound of snakes hissing started to fill the air.

Hearing the sound of snakes around them, Archion and Aurora look around. The dragon shoot out a blast of fire all around her, making us dodge.

"Behind you," Maxwell warned with a smirk as a snake-like monster was about to strike from the back, hidden in the darkness.

[Shadow Dragon]

Haku looked down to see the water beginning to bubble, right before a burst of water shot out, and a creature inside attempting to snag the snake-like monster before it got to Archion and Aurora.

"An ambush?!" Zali questioned, also in dragon form as he remained back from the battle for now and observed.

Ganondorf then whistles a different tune, making me say, "That works."

Ten pairs of eyes appear in the darkness before the same number of snakes go after the creature.

"Nocturne of Shadow. Fitting," I thought.

The creature winds up going back into the water before we could get a look at it, in an attempt to dodge the snake creatures now.

The snakes stared into the water as Ganondorf said to Archion and Aurora "I advise you to leave as there's more to come. You are facing a king of two titles. Of shadow and of toxin. Unless you wish to be nothing then bone, then give Tikal to me. You are not worthy of the dragon's power."

He felt Tikal was trying to trick them, so he went there as well. Maxwell stood by in flight as he said, "I see you think the same."

Unfortunately for everyone, Tikal was able to hear everything despite being under the lake's surface.

"And my patience with this nonsense has run its course," he hissed to himself, and shot himself toward the surface.

"Who?" Archion questioned.

"We know you're after the great dragon of legend," my voice was heard, "now where is he?"

"What dragon? I don't know what you're talking about..."

"Archion," Brandon sensed his lie, "play with fire and you will get burned. Play with the type of fire Tikal possesses, and you will be reduced to ash. Don't underestimate the great dragon of legend!"

D*mn, his cover was blown! No sense in changing to a monstrous form to try and fool everyone now. In response to all this, Tikal shot up from the lake's surface, jaws wide and attempts to clamp onto Haku's neck...

...but I was grabbed instead by mistake.

My group was astonished of what they had just seen, before Tikal crashes back into the lake, with the back of my neck firmly in his jaws and he proceeds to drag me under.

"Curse it! I didn't want that to happen, but...run with it," Ganondorf thought and said, "Well, what were you saying? he then looks at me and said, "Try and get that follow back, alive if you can."

"Yes sir," I said, also running with it and and flew into the water to try and rescue Shadow.

He looks at Zelda as he warned Archion, "I see someone didn't get the hint of 'watch out for the clan of copies'. You played with more than fire as all elements will have fun with you."

This made Maxwell smirk as he said, "More so, you have to deal with the son of an Earth Warden."

{I'll explain that in a moment.}

[Shadow Dragon]

"No matter what happens-" I heard Tikal's voice, "-don't hold back on me."

I continue to struggle to break from Tikal's grip, but Tikal remained firm as he dove deeper into the lake.

"Enough, Shadow! You're in no danger with me. The more you struggle, the more you are at risk of drowning!"

At least with me being in my dragon form, I was able to hold my breath longer. After calming myself and ceasing my movements, I then questioned him, "What are you doing?"

"You got in the way of me grabbing Haku!" he replied, "I don't know what's going on...but I'll figure it out later. For now, treat me as if I was your enemy. Don't hold back on me...no matter what."

"What?!"

"There's something about this Archion fellow I don't like...! Until I know what he's up to, I need to keep up my façade. Nothing more!"

"OK, so the great dragon is working for me," said Archion, "and yet you have the river dragon on your side. I'd say that makes us even!" Then to Ganondorf with a smirk, "Not as much fun as I will with them, I'm sure."

"You REALLY don't know who the hell you're dealing with, do you?" questioned Night Stalker.

"Interesting...yet, I have something that can destroy all worlds," Ganondorf said looking at Calamity, "Ruined an entire kingdom and then some." He looked at Maxwell and says, "You almost did the same too. The whole planet correct?"

"Just like my father. He was about to end all life in his world and the only way to stop him was for all the other wardens to give up their power as well dragon forms to become nothing more then humans. In other words...what hope do you have for the son of Neltharion The World Breaker?"

"And don't get me started on a trick to power us both up. Well?"

[Shadow Dragon]

"Your titles are meaningless to our clan!" hissed Archion, "We have an army in waiting, growing as we speak, to rid of anyone that stands in our way of our goals!"

I nod at this, before going into a panic from lack of oxygen and started moving hurriedly toward the lake's surface. Tikal sends a small blast of dark waves at me to help push me toward the surface faster. Anymore, and he would risk losing his draconic form, and blowing his cover with Archion and his lackies.

That's when I was able to burst out of the water, now in flight, and catching my group's attention.

"You?!" Archion hissed, "Still alive, huh?"

That's when Tikal broke the water's surface and tries to snatch me in his jaws again, but purposely misses and slams back down into the lake.

I surface as well and join Shadow.

"Well, my pet will have fun eating every last one of you," Ganondorf said, laughing, "Your clan better be enough to overtake his hunger and his two sets of teeth."

"Cerberus..." I thought. He isn't wrong as that dog in true form can do more than a little damage just like the myth and more.

[Shadow Dragon]

"And you're a dragon as well, I take it," Archion told me as he looked at me, "I figured that much."

"You knew?" Brandon questioned.

"No...but thanks for showing me."

I land on the ground and change back to human form. Oh well. The enemy was going to find out anyway.

"Oh, we have more power than what you believe," Archion said to Ganondorf.

In response to everything, Haku creates a cyclone of water from the lake, turning it into ice, and shattering it to form sharp icicles. He then sends them at Tikal, who quickly creates a shield to block them, but not before being sliced by one at the side of his neck. Luckily, it wasn't deep enough to bleed or do fatal damage.

"THAT'S for almost drowning our friend!" Haku glared.

"That's all?" taunted Tikal, "You've gone soft, river spirit."

"I'll have fun with you," he said to him, "Though I wonder...how long that will last as our power has always been growing as well but enough of that. Be off with you, cur!" Seeing the attack, he said, "Haku, save your strength. I want to surprise them anyway...with something we have that was theirs. Though, I wonder if they will miss them. A know Zagan doesn't care about them..."

"Oh right!" I said to this, "What were their names again?"

"Not now. They most likely will figure it out."

{Course the new characters I brought in.}

[Shadow Dragon]

"You have something of ours??" Archion hissed, then sighed, "Probably not worth very much, knowing our tribe." Then he pondered, "Although..."

"No, I just don't believe wasting my time with you would be valuable right now," Haku bit back at Tikal, "for a dragon who's supposedly a prideful one, you're not doing a good job living up to your legendary title and status."

In response to that, Tikal raises his head and shoots out a blast of fire at Haku, who summons water from the lake and uses it to dissipate it harmlessly, turning to steam.

"Enough of this!" Archion spoke, "Tikal, we're going! Follow or don't." he turns back to the rest of us, "I've seen all I need to see here anyway."

"Same here. I'm going to enjoy this," Ganondorf said, "Maxwell, I'm going to strengthen you once more. Good job on eating the last 'threat'."

"I hope he does it again in the future," the dragon said.

"Share next time," I said.

Zelda made the air colder as another warning for Archion to leave.

[Shadow Dragon]

Archion summons a red portal back to his base after feeling the cold air, "Then next time, I advise you to gather stronger men. That twig of a dragon was no match for the great dragon of legend, after all."

I bare my teeth at Archion for this. As he enters the portal, Tikal lets out a snarl in response. He turns and stares us down for a moment, then eyes me and gives a gentle nod. I didn't say anything, but I did remember what he told me.

"For now, treat me as if I was your enemy. Don't hold back on me...no matter what."

Of course, this might also mean Tikal won't be holding back from here on out, which scared me as I watch him take off and fly into the portal, before it closed up and vanished. Hopefully with Tikal alongside Archion and the clan, they'll be kept an eye on for sure.

Brandon and the other dragons revert to their human appearances in the meantime.

"D*mn it," growled Zali, clinching his fists.

"Don't get in arms yet," Ganondorf said, "They just confirmed one thing for me. They don't care for their own and we might have a weapon that they don't know about."

"You mean you weren't lying about having something of there's!?" Maxwell asked.

"It's true. Two in fact."

"Tell me who they are! I demand it!"

"Fine. It's Athena and Bellona."

Maxwell stopped at that point and asked, once more, "Who are they?"

"You know them, don't you?" I asked, but all I got was silence.

"What I don't understand is why and how a dragon like him would ever side with an evil clan like that?!" Zali hissed out.

"He's doing this to keep tabs on the clan," Haku admitted, "and he attacked us to sell it."

I blink as I turn to Haku, "So...you knew all along?"

"Wait, you did?!" Zelos asked me.

"I...well I-"

"Tikal is prideful, but not so prideful he would side with anyone willing to cause harm to ancient land," Haku explained.

"So that's why you were so calm about it," said Zelos, disregarding me now.

"Good, so we have a spy with the enemy," said Zali, "and we have someone of theirs, from the sound of it."

"But if the clan don't care about them, then what's the point?"

Brandon turns to Maxwell on this, "Any information you're able to provide us, any at all, will be helpful."

"Remember the two dragons that landed on my doorstep?" Ganondorf reminded, "They were sick of their ways?"

"So, that's where they are..." Maxwell said, sounding relieved, "I thought..."

"Thought?" I repeat.

"Where are they?" he asked, ignoring me.

"Resting. Andrew is keeping an eye on them," Ganondorf said.

"So if we see them again and they fight with us again, don't hold back anymore," reminded Haku, "because Tikal certainly won't."

I nod at that, even though I didn't like it.

"Just try and keep in mind that it's a GOOD thing this time," sighed Zali, then to Ganondorf, "and how do you know they weren't playing it up?"

"You mean let our guard down and strike us later?" Vincet ask.

"I didn't get anything like that out of them," Brandon confirmed, "so I think we're safe."

I turn to Vincet, "Aren't those two from the same clan as you, though? How can you not trust them even though they left them like you did?"

"They aren't a threat to you," Maxwell said before he took off in flight towards Ganondorf's castle.

"Don't tell me," I start to ask.

"Only one way to know what's going on," Ganondorf said as Calamity came back, clearing the sky once more. He takes off in flight back to the castle.

"Big guy can tell who's telling the truth, so I have a feeling..." I said flying off as well with Zelda in tow.

"Hmm," was all Zali said before changing to his dragon form and followed Ganondorf2's team, as did the rest of us, Vincet and Zelos jumping onto my back.

Maxwell lands first and waits for us. Ganondorf lands next before the dragon asked, "Where are they?"

"Andrew is keeping an eye on them. They are resting as I said before," the clone said, before seeing the dragon walk toward the area.

This got Andrew's attention as he was nearby and was about to stop him, but Nova said, "Let him pass. He won't do anything. I know it."

He does just that as Maxwell opened the door to see the two dragons, now wake. The young lady shout is surprise, "Uncle Maxwell?! I thought you were gone! When you-"

"I haven't...but I thought the same for you..."

"Uncle?!" I asked.

"I didn't know you were related to these two," Ganondorf said.

"I would have said something, but at the same time...I thought they died when we escaped..."

[Shadow Dragon]

Us dragons land on solid ground and the riders jump off.

"I'm surprised you came back to us at all..." the old dragon said, with scorn.

"I told you, I thought you died when we escaped! Let alone I didn't expect you to follow."

"Matters not. From stories I heard, you're no different than your father."

"At least I don't threaten an entire planet!"

Ganondorf and Andrew stay out of it. Sounds like the father was more than just a problem.

The rest of us decided not to get into it either, but we grew curious all the same.

"Both of you, stop!" Athena said, "We don't need this right now!"

"She's correct," Maxwell said, "Right now, you two were left to rot with your tribe so it's best to help us."

"How?"

"Can you change into a dragon?"

"I... can't... and I don't know why."

"That shows they are useless to you. Not a kind bone in their body, as I expected."

[Shadow Dragon]

"No we certainly do not," agreed Zali to Athena, then after hearing her and Maxwell, "isn't that interesting."

"I would say not, with the way Archion and Zagan acted when we first met them," I said.
