Dante leads them down a hallway once they were in the palace then said, "Drat, I forgot! I hope you guys can swim."
"I'm sure we can," Sephiroth said.
"Yeah...except it's not water," he said and opened the door to show lava pools."

Ganondorf used his mind to lift Ralph off the ground and he walked in the lava himself the warrior floating beside him.
